Using digital ballast on my high bays?

So I have two 600w MH High Bays. I got them for free and after disassembling, realized that the ballast were no good. The reflectors and sockets are all im salvaging.

The question is, can I get a Digital Ballast (like pictured) and run 600w from it, to my light socket? The only problem I see with doing this, is the cord coming from the ballast to the light fixture - it's some sort of plug (attached photo of “extension plug”) My sockets only has 2 wires and the ground.

If I spliced this cable, could I hard wire it into my socket, which will be in my helmet?

(PS: this ballast would only run one 600w bulb, not both of my sockets. I will be buying another ballast for that helmet setup)

Not a sparky but since nobody's chimed in.

Yeah of course you can , your essentially just using a different reflector.

Can I ask though, is this for a grow? Because reflectors cost fuck all.

Yeah you could I’m betting your whites common black is shared and red is hot just make sure to shorten your shared wire so not have any arcing in the splice maybe wrong on the colors as that’s a wired plain but most ballast are the same you have your lead your common and your ground with a shared wire to continue your circuit
