UV light on harvested Buds?

I'm sure most of you are aware of trichome stimulation using UV light.
My question is: will using UV light on Buds that have been harvested increase THC levels? Does the plant need to be alive in order to use the UV for THC production? I was thinking of putting my Buds under a tanning light freshly picked for a few hours of intense radiation. Will this work?

I do not see how this could possibly work. The plant can only use light (any form, including UV) when it is alive and all the chemical processes are still churning. Perhaps right after the plant was chopped this would still work for a few hours, but certainly not after that.

It could work, it might force the plants to go into survival mode and use up what carbohydrates are left in storage. Not a bad idea but UV can also degrade the THC if too strong and there isn't any replacement from the plant. It's worth a try but I would just stick to adding UV during growth.

This is the best bulb for adding uv to your grow:
Mega-Ray EB 60 watt Flood UVB Lamp Kit - ReptileUV

I have a bearded dragon and I use this for both my babies with great results.

Sweet cheers mate, I'll try it on 1 of my plants as see what happens. ;)

Sounds interesting. The pathway and mechanism for THC creation happens within the trichome. The plant definitely needs to be alive and growing for the trichome to form and for the precursors to THC to form. However, once the precursors are there, we're not completely sure how the conversions take place (we only know the specific chemical pathway). There has been 1 study that I know of where THC precursors were exposed to UV in the lab. Simple UV exposure converted 15% to THC. The study's author considered this to be poor results, but I think it simply means that UV light is only one of the factors at work. In theory, there might be some incremental benefit to exposing the buds to UV for a couple of days post harvest. But once the resins in the trichome begin to solidify, the conversion process stops. SG.
