VEG under HPS?

Is it legit/ok to veg under a HPS? I have always been of the school that you veg with your MHs and flower with your HPS. Can you just veg and flower with the same HPS light?

yes, hps is ok for vegging, not optimal, but definitely ok.

I have read that you can use HPS but I have read that MH is the way to go for veg.

HPS will cause your plants to stretch out somewhat. The blue light of the halide is what gives your nodes tightness and strength. Definitely what you want.
