vegging plants in the dark for a day or two..

hello, guys, well i have just moved house in the last few months, i have some plants in the loft that are a few weeks old

the problem is that i have a plumber coming to fit a shower(just been informed im gettin one fitted as a birthday present) the thing is that the plumber will need in the loft to wire it up to the electricity, so i was wondering would it be ok to put the plants in the dark for a day or two, or would this just freak them out? im not sure exactly when the shower is getting fitted, if it will be a good few weeks i could just put them somewhere and when i put them back up the loft just start the flowering cycle from there, which in theory would be fine, but do you think there would be any adverse effects if i put them back on the veg cycle after being in the dark for a day or two?

thanks in advance

In my readings, i have never really tried the whole dark thing, i do all work around here, the dark for 12 hours or more is enough to get the hormones built up and the plant to start initiating flower. I think that long of dark will help to build the hormones and get them changed modes, so if you put back into veg may lose up to a week or two of growth.

Just stick them in a closet with a small light on 24/24 so they don't change their photo cycle. Just get anything that illuminates the leaves. I wouldn't recommend a few days of lights off, but as long as it's warm enough it shouldn't hurt them too badly.

^^^ What he said. Put them somewhere with a lamp and a CFL. When I isolate males for pollen collection I stick them wherever with a little CFL and they do okay. Your plants might stretch a little, but hey, that's the breaks homie.
