venting over 10 ft?

I have a 4in Vortex 177 cfm fan for my 4x4x7 tent in my closet. With a carbon filter is it powerful enough to get the air about 10ft to the vent on my roof? I have another 4in Vortex fan I could put inline but it would be a struggle to put them on the same switch (not to mention power costs) so I'm trying to avoid it.

So from the top of a 7ft tent to roughly past your 10ft ceiling? Yea man that's only 3ft youre trying to boost, plus heat already rises so your really just helping it along. with a vortex 4" you won't have any trouble achieving what you need trust me on that! Just make sure exhaust leaks are sealed with duct tape and use the proper hose clamps.

Good question about the length limits of routing exhaust duct though, after a certain point(12ft or so for 4" more for 6" duct) the further you route the less overall cfm is acheived. Something to keep in mind when designing a room or tent. Best!

Actually 10ft total. It's about 3 ft to the ceiling and a further 7ft to reach the roof through the attic.

Also, I plan on using LEDs so I'm more concerned about smell than heat

Just put the filter at the beginning of the line If you run passive intake.
Filter<Fan<Out
If the tube is going straight up the heat will help it get there also.
