Vero 29 selection

I am on the verge of ordering the following COBs. BXRC-35G10K0-B-73-SE, They are the 52v poke in 90 cri version of the Vero29. I have not found any other thread or forum where people are using them. I want to make sure I am not missing something before I order so any help is appreciated. I will be running 12 of them in a 4x4 powered by 3x HLG-240h-c1050b as well if that helps. My total wattage will be 655 in the end so around 41 watt per sq/ft. That part I am perfectly fine with but I am just unseasy to see no one else running these on any forum or thread.

3500k will do great. That setup should work really well in your space. I'd also consider remote mounting the drivers to get them out of your grow space to reduce thermal load. Keep us posted.

fire hazzard much ? just finished reading about self built led light failing and buring down half of some people's house lol its a raising issue in the u.s atm and there will be more i bet my left nut on it
 
I agree Rob, some folks have no business wiring things up while drinking their 12 packs. I do have some experience wiring and I have never had an issue in the past. I am well under the rating for the drivers, the COBs themselves, the wiring I will use, the waterproof connectors I will use on the ac side and all other connections will be soldered and heat shrink wrapped. My only concern is that I have not seen these specific COBs listed in any grows or builds I was concerned that there was some sort of issue with quality or spectrum or something of the sort. But Rob I do agree I am not a licensed professional electrician. Luckily my brother in law is an IBEW guy maybe he can finally prove his worth after all!

Basic wiring skills are all that's needed. Use the proper gauge and type of wiring, make good connections and all will be ok.
 
Well I do agree with rob in the sense that people with no knowledge should not be doing these thing unless they educate themselves first or have an educated person oversee the build. However other than a loose connection making contact or heat finally taking toll on something that it wasn't rated for, electricity generally lets you know you were wrong in your processes fairly quick. So when building things like this just review your components and ensure they are rated for the amount of power to be sent through them, make secure connections with no exposed conductive material and I see no reason why your average joe can't do these things and save themselves a lot of money in the process.

But i agree , when playing with electricity, proceed with caution.

Its likely a simple matter of a very minor difference, in on paper efficiency. A negligible, hair splitting, data sheet edge.....

Ignore the naysayers. Proper thermal management, frequent inspection, and sound building with precautionary safety practices (as you already described) virtually erase the likelihood of mishaps involving COB combustion.

I've been using the 69V C variant of the 3500k 80 and 90 CRI for a bit over a year now. No complaints so far, the SE versions are sweet!

Personally never used the "B" version. I use the "D" version. That should be a nice set up you are building.Been building lights for 3 years and have never had an issue and as far as catching fire,not likely unless it was the builders error. I rigged mine, if case of a problem, they will disconnect. Drivers even have a fail safe. So they are much safer than other lighting.

I got 750W of logic 51c in my room with a 350W blurple. never looked back hehe
I run about 720 watts in a 4x4. Either 12 Vero 29's at 1400mA or 9 Veros at 2100mA. I also will double up and run "parallel" wiring, then runm into a series. All my lights are interchangeable, just keep adding on and get more efficient as I go. I have never looked back either. lol
