Vertical Watermelons

I seen on the net the other week about growing watermelon vertically. Looked to be about a 15 - 25 gal air pot, with a column of chicken wire, and a some poles to support it. You train the plant to grow up the chicken wire, but need to make sure the fruit starts on the exterior of the column.

Has anyone here done that? I have two watermelon plants we picked up from the local garden shop. I forget the exact strain, but they are the small/ mini ones.

Never tried it.

Looks easy enough.

Try different shapes.
