I just wondered what the maximum wattage i could use in a house and flat for doing a project, say nothing else was running apart from growing equipment. how much wattage can i get out? because in this one house i have 4 big tvs all kitchen appli laptop and a pc on all the time aswell as 400w vegging and 600w flowering + fan carbon ex fan ect.. anyone got good info? (note it is frowned apon here so i need the max wattage number under the rader)

Depends on the size of the house, how many people are living there, etc. 1000-1200 watts additional is meaningless, you have no worries.

What is the main breaker on your panel ?
Example-
100 amps at 220 volts = 22000 watts
ohm's law....
amps X Volts = watts

Heating load=?
lighting load=?
general load=?
etc...
I live in an Olddddd house with just a 120 volt drop... right off a transfmer
70 amp main X 120 volts= my Max load of this house is 8400 watts

this house is 2 bedroom and 2 people but the new one is small house one person living, so how much watts can i use?

Check your main service disconnect. Many older homes still have a 60 amp main, most of the recent homes have a 100 amp main. Many of the newer and larger homes have a 200 amp, some even a 320 amp. The main breaker/fuse size will be the limiting factor.

I always heard a rule of thumb is a 1000 watts for every room in the house, will keep you way under the radar.. But unless your stealing hydro you wont be on the radar. As for how much your house can run before the breaker switches.. The answers above should help.

Find the meter, the main disconnect should be with it.

Yeah - hire an electrician. Seriously. Screwing up your nutrients because you are new or clueless or listen to the wrong person on the Internet won't kill you.

Screwing up with electricity can kill you.

You can upgrade your panel, costly maybe $800-$1500
Not IMO needed...
Go to your meter, there should be a "Main" Breaker, so the whole house load can be shut off...
If your Main says 70 amp/220 volts then you multiply 70 X 220 = 15,400 watts MAX
That is a lot of Watts
This is just an estimate:
TV's + Computer load /400 watts
existing lighting [2 breakers at 20 amps] /2400 watts
Electric dryer 24 amps [on 30 amp breaker] /1100 watts
Space heater 120 volt at 10 amps = 1200 watts
First find your main breaker 50/70/100/125/150/200 amps prob one of these
Then add all your loads, you should be fine, as long as you live in the US,,,,
How old is your house ?
