Weed as a Christmas gift?

So, I recently got a fair bit of cash from selling off an old guitar. I haven't touched the piece in years, and I don't see the need in an expensive instrument when a cheaper one gets the job done just as well...

My father and I have had several talks about smoking weed. He admits to having smoked when he was younger and when I was younger. He's a professional now, with a high-paying profession, but I doubt he knows anyone who has connections. I haven't really told him how much I smoke, just that I have smoked.

I really wanna buy him an eighth and give it to him for Christmas. Do you guys think that might be a little too up-front?

And what are your thoughts of giving pot to people as a gift?

would you like to receive pot as a gift? i know i would. maybe not start with an eigth, but an already rolled joint and feel things out? i guess thats not much of a gift though... ask yourself "whats the worst that could happen" and if its not that bad then go for it.

It may piss him off. Great gift though! As long as he is cool with the whole pot thing. What was once chill for them may be wrong now. How about give him a small pipe and a good size pinch.

A few years ago I worked with a woman who was the Buyer for the business- who became a friend. Every year for Xmas I would give her a cookie Xmas tin, divided by cardboard slots, with a few different types of buds separated by the cardboard. It was always much appreciated.....

In my opinion, id mix several of the answers above mine.

Get him the 1/8th, but roll several joints..maybe 2 or 3 out of it, and present those as the gift first. perhaps, smoke the first one and offer the other 2. depending on how that goes "feel things out" and give him the rest of the 1/8th confiding that you werent sure and didnt want to cross any boundries or any disrespect. from there im sure it'll go swimmingly. oh, also get him a stoner esque xmas card and a "ditch gift" of somesort incase things go wrong :) peace

Yeah, guys. I got him a beer brewing kit to open with the family. I figured this was a daughter-father special gift. I'm rolling him his third j as we speak.

I think my father only stopped smoking at the urging of my mother, who insisted that I grow up "in a clean, drug free home."

One of my favorite experiences was getting caught with a piece during my freshman year of high school. My dad confiscated it and my dimebag, didn't confront me about it. Just left me a note where I had put my pipe saying "This is mine now. Don't question it. Don't do it again."

Two days later, I found it in his workshop table with a packed bowl, half-smoked. I took a hit and put it back. Never mentioned it to the man.

thats great. me and a long time frined had a similar situation back in highschool before his parents were cool with us smoking there. took the pipe and weed and such, then later on as we got older we kept our good pipes at his house and smoking ended up not being a big deal. long story short we ended up finding our first pipe in his fathers golfclub bag. we smoked some of the ganja that was in it, packed it back up and put it back in there and figured he deserved atleast that for putting up with us.

That's funny. I was talking to my mom recently and she found my stepsisters stash. She took the weed out of the bag and refilled it with oregano and put it back where she found it. I would love to see the look on her face when she realized what had happened.

Yea bro. I keep my grandmother constantly supplied actually and she makes sure of that lol. Everytime i go over her house she makes me check the stash spot which im already replenishing to make sure its always loaded and ready to go.shes awesome. shes 80 years old. does 5 cross word puzzles everymorning before coffee and usually passes out late night with her glass blown 18 inch bong in hand. it is hilarious.

As a guy with two parent that grow, I've thought about giving my father some buds for christmas as well. When i was younger, every spring my parents would plant a couple of seeds, just water it every now and then. I wasnt really interested in the buds at the time, but I would always check them out. I think thats the only reason I'm on this site now, I kinda learned to appreciate the rewards of homegrown. They have since split up, and my mom is more then happy to bring up the subject. She actually gives weed away to her neighbors and shit, last time I visited, she gave me almost a pound of midi's.
I always thought it would be awkward if I gave him that,he knows what I do, but we've never really spoke about him doing it.

Anyhow, Merry Christmakkah to all you here at rollitup.

Yea bro i get my pops smoked out whenever possible. I actually learned alot growing up watching his grows. LMAO. He told me he was proud of me the last time we smoked out. He told me this for the first time ever. How much more rewarding could that be.
