Weed causing sleep apnea

Anyone else wake up feeling like they can’t breathe after smoking before bedtime? I’m not sure if it’s due to the fact that I put a mouthpiece in so I don’t grind my teeth or what but it happens quite often and it’s pretty unnerving. I wake up completely dried out and feeling like I can’t breathe. I keep water by my bed which usually helps but it’s not a good feeling. I notice it more so if I have a few drinks but drinking alone doesn’t cause it. My wife has also told me she has heard me having sleep apnea several times.
