Hey guys, I'm about to move my plant into a larger flower Pot and also change the soil to FOX farm ocean forest potting soil!
What are the PROS and CONS of Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil?
I notice many growers using this particular soil!![]()
The con is if its not available you got to order it, its also kinda expensive.
Just watched a MG vs FOX grow an the MG soil OWNED it, lol.
well im using it for my seedlings right now so ill let you know what happens but so far so good knock on wood
well then i guss i should be fine because form party cups they are going into 3 gallons final homeI've planted all my seeds in FF OF (1/3 - 1/4 perlite) and they've all done fine. I start seeds in party cups of ocean forest for 2 weeks (in cfl PC grow case) then into .8 gallon air pots. They last in that .8 gallon air pot for about 16-18 days before they start to yellow.
The only con is it may be too 'hot' for some seedlings, but I don't know if thats really true or if people just had crappy seedlings. Ocean Forest is great, you can't really do wrong with it. I think its best to add perlite to it though, maybe 3 parts OC to 1 part perlite.

Ive kept plants in a party cup for a month with good results..But im aiming for 3 weeks then in a 3 gallon to veg a couple more weeks then flowerAnd I didn't take them out of the party cups when they started to yellow, I have no idea how long a 16oz party cup of Ocean Forest will last a seedling, I just took em out after 10-14 days because thats when I start feeling like CFL might not be getting the plants as much as they need.

Well i went out today to my local hydro Shop and picked up a 13.2 litres bag of Fox Farm potting soil which was not very expensive at all-it charged me $13.01 with tax-that's not bad i don't think! So I have decided to wait until week 3 of my grow to go ahead and transfer my grow into a bigger Flower Pot and use the Fox Farm potting soil i just bought! What i thought was expensive was the Nutrients Fox Farm Big Bloom and Fox Farm grow Big! Right there alone I'm going to easily spend $40, but I'm also going to wait until my 3rd week too pick that up just because it's not needed now. So I guess soon time will tell how well this soil actually is! I will for sure keep all posted!
