Sounds like you could do with pots n soil, light, some way of extracting stale air if possible. Osc fan, theres a long old list.

What strain are you going to be growing?

Well you'll need a grow space

Lights - CFLs are cheap, mh and hps are more expensive but do a better job - Walmart is cheap for CFLs

Containers - obviously to grow in - Home Depot, Walmart

Nutes and ferts - Anywhere or online for good ones

Testers for ppm, ph, moisture level - Get these anywhere or online

Medium - What you're going to grow in (soil) Organic stuff is supposed to be better, mix with 20% perlite. Black Gold soil is good to use

Leave your water sitting out for 24 hours before you use it

Buy a moisture tester and you won't have to worry about when to water, it'll tell you when you need to do it

Here is a quick and dirty list
Lights -- start with a 200w/2600K CFL. Its cheap and fine for vegetating. You may want to step up to a HPS or Metal halide later on. They are much faster more powerful lights but also more expensive to run and much hotter. For 4 plants, 1 light with reflector should be enough.
Pots -- Start your seeds in 6 inch pots and then get ready to transplant them as they grow. Get I gallon for very foot you hope to grow. Try to use buckets as they are more space efficient than flower pots that taper at the bottom.
Water -- Water every other day and do not overwater. When in doubt hold back -- this forces root growth. Think about how much water they would recieve were they planted in nature.
Nutes -- Anything at your local hardware store with a good dose of Nitrogen will suffice. You can get much more sophisticated, but you do not have to.

You'll need a pH meter. I *highly* reccommend the Hanna. Whatever you do don't buy anything from Stealth Hydro. HTG (High Tech Garden Supply) is super and the best priced. You will need some pH up and down but you can use lemon juice or white vinegar for down and some baking soda for up. For soil I'd use Miracle Gro Organic Growers Choice, 20% perlite, a cup of dolomitic lime, a fistful of blood meal and a fistful of bone meal. Mix it all up good and put it in some 3 gal grow bags or 3 gal containers with holes in the bottom (and a catch pan if necessary). Some basic nutes from General Hydroponics (Grow and Bloom) would get you by since the soil contains pretty much everything they need anyway. Plants need more N early on and more P and K later on and less N so adding supplemental nutes is a good thing. I bought some 65w multi-spectrum CFL's and they are awesome. Check HTG for them also. Soil grows are a lot more forgiving than any other. My grows take longer to die in soil than any other medium I've tried, LOL.

well that helps alot now for the nutrients that you mentioned (grow and bloom) im not quite sure what those nutes consist of or how to use them properly i know i wont have to worry about the nutes untill the soil looses most of its natural nutes. but i would like to know befor i nerun into a problem. also if you have some tips for ventilating a small closet with no windows that would really help. thanks to all who have posted!

My set up consists of a pvc structure surrounded with panda film the black on one side white on the other stuff. I
have a 400 watt hps with a 6" inline fan sucking the hot stinky air from the
room and into the carbon filter. My set up is 24" x 35" x 60". It also has a
4" incline fan bringing cool fresh air into the room from a window. The chamber
is in my closet and the duct work is discrete. I have 8 skunk#1 plants that
look incredible under the super hortilux 400 watt bulb. I bought everything except the soil and nutrients from eBay.
Wish i knew how to post threads with pics on here...any suggestions?
