What would you do?

To grow or not to grow… that is the question. My state recently legalized growing for medical patients and I have my card. We’re allowed to grow 3 mature and 3 immature plants at once. I rent in an apartment (moved in few months ago) and I am trying to decide if it’s worth the risk as I am not sure if it is allowed but not sure if I should ask the landlord. I would grow in a tent with carbon filter and fan, along with an led light. Also I was told there are yearly inspections so I don’t know how much notice they give before coming in if it would be a good idea to dismantle the grow setup. It’s completely legal but I don’t want to risk eviction. Do you think the carbon filter will get rid of all of the odor, or would the neighbors down the hallway smell it? I have a bunch of Dutch passion auto seeds I wish to grow but am trying to decide what to do. What would you do? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Ask your landlord if it's OK.

The legal aspect is clear, according to what you say. It's legal.

Just give a heads up to your landlord, explain the situation, and there should not be any issues.

You would want to use a carbon filter in any case, because otherwise the smell will be unpleasant to yourself, even if nobody else complains...

Speak for yourself. I love the smell, but the neighbors might not, lol.

You’re right, that’s probably the smart move, to ask. But I have a feeling they may say it’s not allowed, so it makes me feel like why can’t I grow a legal plant in my own apartment? And once I mention it I’m sure they will be suspicious if the answer is no. I really don’t want to break rules but I wish to have great weed and save money buying it.

I'd use a tent and not make any holes anywhere. And you could grow some less stinky strains. I think I remember Blue Dream isn't very stinky, but I'm a stoner, lol.

And they actually probably won't do yearly inspections unless they get suspicious. I could be wrong though.

Id speak to your Landlord. Explain that you have a carbon scrubber. See what he says. You never know, there's alot of "closet smokers" out there. In Oklahoma, you have to have Landlord consent. Otherwise, you're not gonna get "inspected" I've been growing for the State for 3 years, and haven't seen a soul out here, or even an inquiry. They just want your money. I should state that a complaint can shut you down, but I've never heard of such.

They mentioned there are yearly inspections so I’m expecting it. That’s a good idea to grow less stinky strains. I love super stinky strains though! :weed:
Yeah.. we were told the same thing as Commercial Growers.... nobody in 3 years. I did all this compliance and clean op crap for nothing. .. Just kidding... I like to run a clean op.

That’s good to know thanks. Yes I think I may speak with them about it. Not sure if you meant inspections from the state for growers but the landlord told me before I moved in he will do yearly inspections but who knows maybe not. Haha

Just cover your ass before you spend the time and effort... you never know, he/she may be cool with it. Keep your shit tidy, pay your rent on time. and buy them a breakfast/coffee every now and then. It'll go a long ways for ya! Just don't suck a dick for the privilege to grow.. Know your limits... and that should be one of them.

I doubt it. Especially in an apartment. I think if he asks that, they will definitely be doing inspections. I wouldn't say shit if he wants to move in there. But that's me, lol.

If he has consent, and keeps things under odor control... shouldn't be a problem. Better to be upfront than kicked out... I guess it all depends on your financial situation, and availability to another apartment.... damn, im glad I live in the country.
