I personally believe that hydro is faster. I get 2 to 3 inches of growth per night with my hydro setup... That's pretty good / fast growth!!!!

I use both and I can honestly say that the plants in my ebb & flow hydro grow much faster than the ones in soil. Another thing to consider is what strain you'll be growing. Some flower much quicker than others.

good question.
i have never grown hydro but i am thinking about it, but i do grow in soil and get good results, if you go with soil why dont you try canna soil, its actualy coconut fibers, really light and fluffy gives the plants oxygen to the roots better than soil.

well ive bin growing soil and its bin iight for me. personally think its kinda too slow. lol.
but if i go hydro, how much will i be spending? and what do i need?

Hydro's veg growth rate is nuts. In 10 days from clone I had big thick bushy plants. There is a reason most only veg for up to two weeks in hydro. It's because it grows fast.

If you let it, Hydro will wear you out. Running around adding all these useless nutes, adjust ph and so on. But some soil set ups are very hard to water.

Higher plant counts should definately be hydro. Both produce great nugs. The flower time is strain dependant though. So you won't save time per se during flower. But because hydro veg's so much faster you can yield much more herb than soil in the same period of time.

Hydro growth during veg can be up to 300% faster. To get a 2ft plant from soil it can take up to a month or more. In hydro you can achieve this in less than two weeks.

This is great advice. Hydro is hands down fastest for veg but when you're using a small system like mine, it will wear you out. It's a full time job keeping up on ph, nutes, water level, etc. But they sure are pretty :)

faster .. well I don't believe hydro grows the buds any faster once flowering cycle begins. And how one gets to that stage has tons of variables. I feel soil grown buds taste better and less complicated to grow overall. It all comes down to the plan and execution. If you start from seed plan on 90days either way. Here's my soil example of 90 days from dry seed to harvest. Oh I'd always swing for the fences when it comes to quality your going through the effort might as well get the goods.:bigjoint:

It's the veg cycle where you get your advantage with hydro. The flower time is pretty much the flower time.

There is no way soil can veg a plant as fast as Hydro. A 2ft plant in 2 weeks doesn't happen in soil. I'm not hating on soil it's just the facts.

90% of all the dispensary herb in Ca is hydro.
