Which seed germination soil?

So I've got my seeds currently sitting in a cup of water, than I'm going with the soil germination method in a mini greenhouse.

Question, what soil should I use?

Is a seed raising potting mix necessary?

Its not necessary but has the folic acid needed to produce many roots....can you get half seedling soil and reg soil? I use Fox Farm soils for years now. I put half seedling soil and half soil with nutes and they love it. Better get that soil really soon! You want to plant them right when you see lil tails pokin out...inch down in soil
