why so much purple?

If I don't ever see purple again I'll be quite happy, I've only ever had 2 purple plants worth growing again, in general its crap imo but there are exceptions like anything.
Agreed had plenty of purple ones myself but few n far between were the potent plants in my experience

Thanks. All we do is roll and smoke joints, no vaping, except for a disposable vape
pen we bought a few months ago that is so-so. And I'll have to google convection vape.
Ok, it's like a convection oven, hot air, not hot element. I bought an airizer vape unit
about 5 years ago, tried it once, cleaned it and repackaged it. I posted about it in here
somewhere, with a pic.

I know that nobody in this board is too worried about the smell of cannabis. But I am. There's
a social/legal stigma attached to it's useage that I want to avoid like the plague. People keep
saying that a little smell isn't bad, but I say NO SMELL is the only way I want to do it. We go
outside to smoke our joints, which is scary enough for me. But we never smoke inside. It's enough
that I open those jars of dispo nugs and roll them. I keep everything neat, tidy, packaged, and
super clean and contained, to minimize the smell inside the house. That's just me, I dunno what else to tell ya.
Im the opposite tho illegal here i love loud strong smelling weed the stinkier the better

yeah, well, i worry about stigma, and cops ... and robbers. Maybe you live out
in the sticks, but i'm right here in hateville, usa where the teabaggers want to
toss your ass in the slammer and the junkies wanna steal yer dope. It's a sad song, ain't it? ;(
You got easier access to guns than we do tho so theres that nope i live in Scotland tho i stay near the country i aint in it i live in a pretty standard big town by our standards just most people where i stay are used to it even if they dont smoke it or like it even tho its illegal most people dont bother there arse i aint saying everyones the same u obviously should be slightly cautious but its not such a big deal like decades ago here id say we got junkies n crackheads same as anywhere luckily no meth yet that will change im sure sadly in time most of the worlds the same ig

@conor c hey buddy, i was going to mention this a few weeks back in the uk page but i got sidetracked.

Like the op I've noticed a big increase in the amount of strains turning purple at the end of flowering, it's got to the point i dread seeing it.
I was wondering if it was the breeding or maybe growing differently to what I did, we all improve/change with time so i couldn't be sure what it was, I'm glad the subject come up with the op i got my question answered.

I said exactly what I wanted to say; there is no hiding. It's not about you and nobody in particular; I don't attack people and don't see the point. It's just an observation in-general about a large number of photographs posted. Many edit their photos to enhance the colors and usually it's glaring and obvious.
Some may do that. I'm not one of those that do. Not that it matters what you believe. Kind of tacky to make insinuations. Just come out and be up front.

Interesting consensus kinda crept up outta nowhere on this thread. Lotta experience all saying the same thing.

Buds are always kinda on the small side 2. Even when colas look ok they dry like shit.

Gorilla zkittlez from bf is the only purple plant I won't let go of. She is super one of a kind in bud structure, flower time, taste, and high. I don't think I could find her again.

I've been saying purple weed is nothing special for a long time. But I've always been a trendsetter. :bigjoint:

There are some very high potency purple strains out there, but there's also lots of weaksauce diluting the gene pools, and a lot of the garbage is very purple and frosty. And pretty much anything with PHK is going to be bland af.

One of my favorites Bluchi is purple, it's one of two good purples I've had in my entire growing experience, i know that purple can be wicked, i grew a kc33 some years ago and it still gets a mention to this day with others when reminiscing

why does so much weed turn purple? i had it happen on a recent grow of what should have been pretty old school genetics. that way back, nothing much was purple.

around 2000 there was a lot of good bud available to me. almost none of it was purple. everything was green. around 2003 i found some midgrade brick that was purple, some with a little purple and some that was blue. grown out, i had a single red plant out of 100 + seeds.

anyway, most bud i have grown was not purple. however, with recent seed purchases, i have had a lot of bud or leaves on the plants turn purple. i am not messing with temperature either. this is not normal to me based on experience. i could chalk it up to new genetics and selection, but i am seeing this on traditional or older strains too. weed is supposed to be green for the most part.

do breeders just breed everything today selecting for color? if so, that means we are not selecting for other things that would be more important.

some time back purple was a bad thing to knowledgeable dudes....it wasn't as potent and gave you purple plateau. i always thought it was a pleasurable high, but too light to pay $20+ per g. every 10lbs or so of BC kind bud would have a lb vac of purple for a little while (2004ish)
Purple is the new green
