Not a complete newbie, but not 'experienced' either. Currently have two girls, from feminized seed (Greenhouse) Super Lemon Haze. Both germinated nicely, though number 2 showed up a couple of days after number 1, identical conditions all round. Now reaching end of week three in veg, girl 1 looks great, strong well developed and all round lovely, girls two is far behind on height, size and leaves look imperfect - some crinkling on edges. My thought is that these two aren't going to be sustainable together. Maybe clone the healthy plant and give up on the runt? Certainly open to suggestions. But possibly more interested in the reasons for the divergence in growth pattern.
There are two things which differentiate the grow of these ladies, first number 2 gave visible signs of germination at least two whole days after number 1, undeniably the seeds were old, and I felt quite lucky to get anything at all, second, soon after resetting in rock wool number 2 'fell over', for about eight hours, and turned to the light (don't balance your seedlings on a thin cardboard box and then apply water is the lesson there). At this stage there was still just the pair of 'baby' leaves on both plants, though number 2 had a significant kink in its stem due to the turning. Thereafter both 1 and 2 have had identical conditions, I was hoping 2 would catch up on 1 but it seems clear that not only is that not going to happen but also 1 just looks much healthier.

So questions.
1) Growing from fem seed - seeds vary obviously - but this much?
2) Seeds were in storage, and not chilled, for around a year, is this too long to expect anything other than retarded plants? Or is it a case of 'if they still germinate they should still be good"
3) My accident - would 8 hours on its side screw up my baby for life? - plant equivalent of 'shaken baby syndrome'?
4) And finally, my intention now is to clone off the good plant , and get a couple (or more) of plants equally vigorous - (haven't done this before, but hey I'm doing this to learn), and run the sad one through the garbage disposal.. I'll take any tips or alternate suggestions, but my main reason for posting for learning purposes is - why the huge difference?
thanks
