I think i made a really dumb mistake. The picture I sent in with my application was not a passport photo, and I dont really know how the sizing of pictures works but I think it was bigger than what they asked for. Will I get denied because of that? or has anyone heard of people being denied for the picture? I am nervous because it seems like Illinois is super strict

Having a medical card also gives you more legal protection even if rec is legal. Always a good thing to have.

You won't get denied for a bad picture, you will get a letter telling you to resubmit a picture.
In my graphics program I set the picture to their 2"x2" size and whatever their pixel limit was. The camera I used is way over their limits.

true, but i like my guns lol im not giving them up for a med card
You don't lose FOID or CCW in IL. You lose those for being addicted to narcotics, the MCPP states having a card and using mmj with a card is not considered being addicted to narcotics. The people who wrote the law intentionally used the same language.
The ISP website faqs under CCW state you do not lose anything (see picture below). They originally "accidentally" sent out revocation letters but have stopped.

Federal is a different story, but using cannabis is against their rules. But they have bigger fish to fry and hopefully that will be changed soon.

thats good to know. However, when i purchased my last pistol one of the ATF questions specifically mentioned being "addicted to marijuana" so i figured they wouldnt allow me to have both MMJ and CCW

Yes, you can't buy guns at an FFL. You can still buy through private sales, anything that doesn't take 4473. That's what hopefully changes soon.

One Small Caveat, No Gun Dealer will sell you a Gun. Has to be a Private transaction. You can own Guns, but you will be denied at the background check. I expect this to Change as Weed will be Legal Next Year. You can not let General Public Cannabis users buy guns in Gun Stores and Prevent Med Users.

It will take a federal law. Obama's administration changed 4473 to specifically say legal marijuana use in your state is still illegal.
It was supposed to be Massie who brought it up but he's black balled by the NRA, I'm not sure if that's why but someone else brought it up (and the NRA is still silent on the issue).
It really can't be changed by the state other than to do away with medical registration and let people lie (a crime in itself). And at least one other district has found that just having a mmj card in case you need it is enough to deny sales (and again NRA is silent).
