will my vent work?

im trying to avoid the house smelling through to my tenants, im gonna seal my closet as best i can, airtight as much as possible. and its right near my window, so im gonna build a vent running from the closet to the window, with a fan inside the closet directing airflow out through the vent out the window into the 5th floor sky.

I would suggest a carbon filter. You can usually go without during veg, but come time to flower you will need it.
