Ok so i planted two lowryder 2 seeds five days ago that i germanated first one is doing good already has a set of leaves, as for the other nothing. Then i just watered it cos it seemed really dry (not much may i add!) and the seed, well i think it was the seed floated to the top! That don't seem right to me, but anyways i planted it back in the soil. I think it's had it though, just wanted to see what people thought before i chucked it out! Some pics below, any opinions would be great, thanks.

Looks bad!It doesn't have the tap root on it anymore and it looks like it is already done for.

You shouldn't really handle the seeds. I did with mine but you are meant to use tweezers if possible. You might have got some acids or bacteria from your hands on to the tap root which could have affected the plant.

Yer i know i shouldn't but didn't really have much choice at the time didn't think it would have been a good idea to just leave it on the top like that.

Just stick it in some soil and leave it for a week or so before you toss it. Unless you got plenty of seeds. I would try just using one light until they are a couple of inches.

If i had to take a guess, I would guess buried too deeply. A seed only has enough food to generate enough tap root to steady itself and to grow a meristem with some embryonic leaf (cotyledons). If it runs out of food before reaching the surface (and light) - it dies.

but kind of hard to tell from the pictures though - could just be a bad seed.

Just stick in soil and pray! Be nice and love it! No more water for atleast 6-8 days! If the seed was in soil and it floated to the top then you must not have drainage holes? or you just over watered and it doesnt want to drown? Put some drainage holes and let it ride!

:peace:
