okay everybody. i think this might be my first official grow thread. wohoo! i've just begun this season's indoor seeds. 9 of the healthiest seeds i chose from a bunch of assorted plants. i think a lot of them are auto flowering, seeing as most of my autos gave a few nice fat seeds this year. i also realized how pointless i think it is to grow autos last season, so i thought i'd just grow out all the auto seeds i think i have.
onto the setup. i'll toss up some shots when i'm not tired as hell. the seedlings are in soil under 300w of cfls for now. i got a bunch of my old gear back from the buddies i lent it out to but they lost the ballast adaptor, 3 poles for the tent and broke the metal halide bulb. i replaced everything except the adaptor. so they'll be under cfls until i get that. i'll be running a 400w mh for veg and a 600w hps for flower.
heres what i need help with. i don't know how similar cocoa will be to . i want to experiment a bit with enriching cocoa peat and thought i'd try mixing cocoa with a bunch of awesome stuff plants love.
this is what i was thinking of working with. i already have all everything, i just need some advice on proportions.
- 50L of expanded cocoa peat
- 20L of african nightcrawler wormcastings
- 10L of sheep manure compost
- 7L of perlite
- indonesian bat guano, bloom 1-26-5
- alfalfa meal 3-0-2
- bone meal 4-10-0
- blood meal 12-0-0
- rare earth, silicates and leonardite (rich in humic acid)
- rooter's mycorrhizae
- langbeinite
- dolomite lime
any suggestions before i get started? i know this mix will be crazy hot so i'll be mixing on the light side, but i need to get it cooking soon if i want it to be ready when they start flowering. i have a horrible memory so i'll try and post updates and pictures as often as i remember.
thanks everyone. good growing
