harvest potent % drying curing

I've just hanged up some bud to dry, and smoked some sugar leaves coated in trichs. I know stength is a personal preferance but i feel its kinda meh ( focusing entirely on high coz i know taste and smell comes later) like 5/10 it got me a little high but not for very long, is this a reflection...
