Real talk, this is well put. Some of these folks is old up on here tho, you gotta understand some of the folks is 45+ and they ain't used to us young bucks out here. lol. Shit, times is changing and thangs is different now, I mean folks is wild, and just living life ya know. The world ain't the proper politically correct place it was 30 years ago, maybe even 20. I was born in the 70's and I've seen the times change drastically, but it's all good, and I'm rolling wit it. And ya I disagree wit some of the shit the younger generation is doin but I cant blame them. We been tellin em' for years the world is yours, get off in it and fuck shit up. lol.
Yea I'm livin life making my money getting ass having a good as time. I guess people just old school. 80's baby so i wouldn't really understand where they are coming from anyway. I know people that talk like i do purely because you don't want everyone to know what you are sayin on the phone or on the block. Y do you think the word for weed and its measurements change by the week? Cause you dont want feds to catch on.

Ex: Someone call you about a ounce? Dey would say where da smoke at? I need da 28 or da onion.

Not hello can i get an ounce of weed/bud/marijuana
I guess if they never experience it or have had anything to do with it they'll never know why people do it. J

Just pisses me off when they say oh he speak slang to the fullest he ain't go to school. I went to an National Exemplary High School, real good in the suburbs to better myself and prove people like them wrong.
I can use my brain and I've been using it a little bit more on this forum theses past 2days.

Be easy bra!

Perfect spelling and grammar .... not all the time, but it would be nice if people at least strive for it.

I'd prefer to not see slang filled posts where every word is ghettoease, i.e. is becomes iz; what becomes wat; this becomes dis; that becomes dat

Yes... I expect stoners to try and do a better job of presenting themselves in a positive light. We all want the public to have a better perception of us pot smokers right? How the hell is that going to happen if we present ourselves as a bunch of uneducated fools who can't take the time to spell the word "what" correctly?

I'm sure those who are "pro marijuana prohibition" will be happy to claim that mj made us too stupid to even learn the most basic of grammar skills.

So yeah.... I expect a little more from the mj community :blsmoke:
Dis iz it, ur askin 2 much bruh. lol. Give me a fuckin break, this ain't a site for the general public. Hahaha, And ain't really a whole lotta ppl on here tryna promote the legalization of MJ. And I'm sure 75 % dont give a fuck how the public views them, cuz like BLEEZY said folks is concerned with themselves, and that's just the way it is my friend. And it's shortened to save key strokes, and yeah spellin is like walking, but folks is constantly changing to save a second. It's life man, you gotta deal wit it, or get dealt wit. lol. Peace:joint:

I do not see the problem in asking for an ounce. I do not understand the need to use code words. Sounds childish to me. Hell, I have been smoking for 20 some years and never even knew what the hell a blunt was until I came here. I still just say "got a joint". Everybody understands that.

And this is everyone elses problem because they quit school? I must make concessions because they failed to finish school? I will not do that, ever. If someone does not have the gumption to finish school, then how the hell is an employer to expect that they will not up and quit on them or just be a person that will perform on a sub-par level. Its not going to happen on my watch.
So much of the working industry is sub par. And it's not the employee's on the bottom fault. It's the upper management being more concerned the profit than anything else. I mean you sound like a stern, military perfectionist type, but Im sure there are plenty of half ass hard working muthafuckas right in your department. You only work 8-12 hours, and then you gone, someone else gotta run the show too.

you expect more from the marijuana community? dude...how old are you? Go grab yourself a copy of the art of war or somethin if you want proper grammar. What your asking us to do is follow the guidelines of grammar that have been taught in schools. Heres the deal, the way i type, is the way i talk. If ya dont like the way i talk, then you aint gonna like the way i type. Reason that is, is because its the way we think, is the way we express ourselves and its part of what makes us individuals. I cant believe this thread has over 180 posts.

Our point is we know good verbal and written skills are very important in life. It ain't like we gonna be at work or in a professional environment talking this and that slang shit, we know better, but in our personal time, we gonna talk how we wanna talk, smoke how we wanna smoke, drink how we wanna drink. That's all, you ain't finna light a joint up at work are you? Duh! So, don't think cuz we slangin it up on RIU that we don't know how to act, talk, or write in the real world. I mean come on people, ain't nobody just a f'n idiot that gonna be dumb enough to talk crazy at work or in a professional environment.

I get your point. Actually I'm interested in knowing the age demographic for those here that write every post using 80% slang. I expect the age range to be 13-25.

I'm 42 and when I was in the 16-22 age range I used terms/phrases such as "like oh my god, like gag me with a spoon" and "like that is so tubular". I grew out of it as I suspect most people do.

When I'm at home kicking back with my sister and/or friends I still use good grammar. Sure I swear like a trucker (which I don't do while at work), but I use those words in grammatically correct sentences

Fuck the computer, it even gets it wrong. When writing a sentence the checker will usually not make the distinction whether 'their' or 'there' should be used. All of that comes down to knowing, people rely on MS to fix their problems without them putting much thought into what they are doing.

That's a grammar problem, not a spelling problem. Word has a grammar check function, but it's bullshit. Spell check works though.

You are right. However, I am easy to get along with and I am fair. But when it comes down to people not pulling their weight that they are paid to do, then that is where problems arise. Yes, upper level management can be fucked as well. But you know at the end of the day, it is not unusual for me to go have a drink or smoke one with someone I bitched at during the day. Work is work, and it stays at work. As long as the job is done and done properly, in the end that is all that matters. All the ass chewings and bitching outs have long been forgotten.

See you don't know how it is now. You hear ounce on the street fist thing is okay he getting smoke i gotta rob his ass. People really do listen. You want everyone knowing your business? I think not.

People get jacked over dime bags bra. I saw a kid get a blunt smacked out his mouth just cuz dudes aint have money to go buy one i think, and bra just sparked his up.

See you old school no disrespect but you gotta use different words. So if you sellin smoke and you getting 15+ decent phone orders a day you want everyone knowing what you say on the phone. You get a call in the store, bra hear ounce he just might follow ya ass home and wait for you to slip up and see if you higher than onion status.

Pple will never understand till they live it i guess.

They are dealers, they deserve to get their asses beat. I say, give every drug dealer a gun ship them to an island and let them fight it out. Then, when the smoke clears there may be only one left and he should not pose that much of a threat.

shit.. I hire people that doent even speak english. You dont need much education to manage a contracting company, but to handle $250,000 on a regular basis and take in account- invoices, payrolls, equipment, accounts, and dealing with realtors, you cant just slang out some crazy word. You have to act professional, but after the 12 hr day, a b-load.... and what ever nonsense comes out, is ok. who caresss let us talk how we wantt

Exactly wat I said. They don't get it. People keep talkin about the workplace dis aint da workplace we not filing resumes. We all know to use the best of the best grammer when we go inside that cubicle or office.

Ya'll will most def get tore off if you keep using those old terms.

Alot of heat gets put on you by the way you speak on smoke, sayin known words like eighth will def draw attention to you. So be creative and use something like pool or corner pocket.
