I do see that , but I'm going off the test in the video. shady shady. lol
And I have a yard stick in my hand that's 18 inches.
So it is ok for you, that he wrote some wrong facts on his homepage? Also the wire of PAR meter is behind rod of tent. Why? Maybe the correct sensor measure some other lights in Background? Looks like a professional fake video.

Think i'm going to get me a go green 200w next run.

It seems to be the only ones available. Area51 and tasty are completely out of stock.
There will be some Tasty 1750 series lamps showing up soon, 2100 series after the first of the year. Once the HLG-240H-C becomes more available it's won't be as much of an issue, but being a one man operation will always be low volume. The last 5 lamps I've built were already sold before they hit the website.

I just sent em a message saying, fix your shit or I wont buy another. lol
There's a lot of flim flam in the LED market. The only thing that lets those companies get way with it is that consumers don't care. Platinum's name-ripoff of another company's reputation should have been a warning sign about trusting self-produced performance metrics.

If their light was so good, why would Platinum have to resort to riding the coattails of another company's reputation? If they could make an epi-whatever diode outperform a COB, that should have stood on its own merits. Why tarnish their reputation by entering the market with such douchey tactics?

What is disturbing to me is that Name Ripoff Platinum thought they could do that, and it wouldn't matter to consumers.

I talked a lot against the grain in Mars Hydro's forum there. Nothing happened to me. Even when some of the fanboys began complaining about my questions, opinions. I felt I was treated fairly and stopped posting after I made my case.

You come across as a shill (TBH) for Name-Ripoff Platinum. I can see how you would have not lasted long.

Whats the Fuss you can grow a plant with a flash light haha i mean really everyone is fighting over non sense my cob is better then your cob or led , Really this is getting ridiculous,
I say with the major advancements in the lighting industry Cobs will be outdated soon,, Shit I purchased a new TV year ago guess what its out dated , new PC dam thing is out dated in 6 Months ,,
I mean seriously , I am so going to laugh when in the near Future something better comes out to replace cobs ?? It will happen But in the mean time keep fighting really over nothing oh here 18 watt grow doing fine day 16 from germination and yes 18 watts :)

Hey Rahz i am curious how much would a cob unit cost or units cost to consistently, pull 2 .75 pounds - 3 pound harvests ??? Cause it costs me 450 bucks per unit delivered to my house to achieve them numbers per unit 2 week old.jpg 2 w old.jpg 2 week old.jpg 2 w old.jpg

A natural shillist, book nerd, I'm a really good salesman (health/life insurance, cell phones), and when it comes to disputing facts it kinda turns me on. why I come off as an asshole, its natural I guess.

It would be safe to say with the increase in technology growing at lighting speeds It won't be long when you see treads like Cob the outdated Junk in comparison to MARS LED units ..
I give it 2 years max and there will be another king on the block surpassing COB efficiency Cause really that is only thing COB has i am not seeing huge differences as in yield, growth rates ,, etc its all the same dam thing EFFICIENCY

... regardless of whether the source of those facts has already discredited itself.

My concern is that people are trying to make a decision about which light to purchase. I don't think it's cool to rock the boat just to satisfy your craving for entertainment.

You're right that nobody's going to lose a lot on a $200 light. I just wish that they make that decision without entertainment-biased misinformation.

The only reason I brought up my light, wont even say their name anymore just for PC purposes, don't wanna get banned again lol, was because this thread is about looking to buy mars hydro. I read through a forum on another website that did a side by side of the grows. on one light and plant my light grew 2 more ounces under the same exact environment and circumstances. I'm not arguing that COB/ CXB isnt good tech, I know it is, the problem is its too expensive right now.

The lamps I sell have 50-56% efficient output. You can figure out what wattage/price you might need to reach your goals using that (there's a chart on the website to help with that). As far as cobs being outdated, it depends on what package type the new technology comes in. It's likely the LED industry will push cobs further. New cobs will replace old cobs. A couple years from now we might see nominal current producing over 50% efficiency and 2/3 nominal over 60%. Perhaps a different technology will surpass cob technology, either diode based or something else. If I can incorporate it into a light I will consider doing so.

Too expensive for who? I've sold most of the lamps I've built so far. Cost over time makes COB a good deal. Some people may not feel comfortable spending more up front.
