Maybe it will be a bit of help for the FCO team ....

I've multiplied the McCree curve ( aka "Photosynthesis Action Spectrum ) with the Absorptance curve of Cannabis Sativa
species ....

The result is ... a mixture of absorptance & RQE per nanometer ...:P
A combined curve that shows the overall photosynthetic potential (! ) per nanometer ...

The highest " photosynthetic potentional " ( PP ) ,at the range of 400-700 nm ,
is located at 625 nm ( PP=0.893 ) .

The lowest points :
1 ) At 530 nm (PP=0.592 )
2 ) At 400 nm (PP=0.590 )
3 ) From 688 nm to 700 nm ( PP= 0.586 to PP= 0.31 ,respectively )

PP >= 0.8 have the photons of the range 582 nm up to 679 nm ( deep yellow to deep red )

Now that all this has been said, what do you think of a theoretical greenhouse supplemental lighting that is mono blue for vegging and mono red for flowering? Let the ambient sunlight take care of the rest... would enough green and amber be getting to the plants on an average overcast day, in the greenhouse? I know it would probably be more effective to have a 4000K for vegging with a supplemental red, but please humor me!

What do you expect from a 30% efficient led fixture? They can't all be as good as mars hydro.

@Herbal_Essence- are you worried about only 2 screws holding it in? Don't, the COB is built on an 1/8" thick aluminum square, so it won't taco as you screw the 2 down. These COB feel unbreakable compare to all other COBs I have worked with. They aren't planning on holders, but you can get screw in posts if you special order the COBs.

I was told by Flip Chips engineers that because of the way the wire there COBs that you can run them in parallel without any problems. And to your question, no.
You keep forgetting that that driver is a Constant Current driver, it just has a voltage limit. As long as you are under that limit it runs Constant Current @ 5 amps.

Wasn't there a demo video that showed someone driving over the Flip Chip COBs and they suffered no damage? I swear I didn't dream that!

I still have no clue how by they work compared to the C version

IMHO trying to duplicate SOL (point source LED COB at 500-2400W) is just silly as you run into similar heating issues ;) with uneven light distribution.
Its much better to distribute your LEDs over the entire grow area; everything is better with a multitude of light sources.
