Your test is confusing anyway, its testing a PAR chart to total par or some type of absolute max. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
It's testing par with ppfd (umol.m.2s1) values in a 4x4, Doesn't seem that confusing imo..

I will say that the sk600 is looking a little "cheatish" and odd since they only have a centered ppfd reading however, if you've used all lights at 36" away then the 1000w DE would still potentially yield more then all the panels posted.

I agree, like you pointed out nobody will use those panels or a DE within a few foot of a plant with more then 6-8 hours of light or it will fry the living chlorophyll out of it.

seems like there are still a lot of exaggerations regarding leds. on that link they don't show the operating current that efficacy was achieved at but looking at the data sheet that site links to it seems 140 lm/w at 25C at 84 watts is the best been listed
I'm not how you're getting those figures. In the datasheet average LPW for the CD bin is 147 at 85C and 86.4 watts. There are higher bins as well.

Where are the scientific facts though? like I posted a data sheet from cree all you posted was your opinion. I get you think LEDs are better but please prove it with actual facts and not just "these are better" .
id say look at some of the journals/threads/youtubes/posts on here by growmau5, greengenes707, CoralMafia, captianmorgan, etc who are all getting 1.5GPW and up with cobs.

is anybody pulling 3.5-4 lbs out of their 1100W gavita?

Mine went from .65 GPW under CFL to 1.25 GPW under Vero 18, gen 5 the ones people were building with 3 years ago. No changes other than the light source.

Also, Cree has maintenance data on their site. The LM90 is higher than any bulb.
ummm, not to be rude but one would hope you would up yield from CFL's they are probably the worst lighting source that can actually grow plants.

I don't think you really understand commercial applications....they hang the lights high as hell so they overlap and they grow fields.

Not according to the person I was replying to. No offence taken.

i think i understand it well enough and know that those guys are elated on the rare occasion they hit 3lb per light
They are not weighing by single light , they weigh by crop, when you run 40 gavitas and they overlap how do you measure per light? You can't, but you don't understand because you live in a world where people grow in small enclosed rooms and not warehouses with 20ft+ ceilings and good air conditioners but instead in tiny grow tents with no air conditioning.

You grow like that?
Your taking jack mayoffer style, and he aint got time for weed forums.and i also dont see him claiming 3.5 per lamp.and yes they crop whole rooms at once and reset. And yes they know exactly how many # per lamp they are pulling and what the exact cost per gram is lmfao.your in a led forum arguing that gavita can hang with cob in efficiency % its not even close.

I have no beef with led and will continue to use and experiment with them and who knows, maybe one day have them as my only grow lighting source?
That said, the whole longevity and no bulb change argument is a joke. A grow room is a harsh environment and does a number on metal parts and electronics.
I have an idea - Let's start some sort of a "guest book" here on RIU where growers can kinda sign it and state what lighting they are running. Then after say 3-5 years let's come back and see how many still have that same lighting in production :hump:

Biggest factor in yield is the area you can grow in, sorry LEDs make a tiny footprint and cost a ton of money and need to be close as hell to the plant to be effective with no penetration at all, they might be good to grow in enclosed spaces with a scrog but when you step up to the big leagues you better buy the big boy lights not some hobby toys.
