I admit I felt a little warm and fuzzy inside when I noticed those osram ssl 120 modules. I was having doubts for weeks whether I should buy stars or mess with those tiny leds and a pcb myself (with the advantage of using a single optic), and then I noticed they did it already for me. Fun!

I think we need to limit it to companies that actually exist. They seem to still be trying to raise the funds to launch their business.

Also add OSRAM and Luminus (Devices) who both make "Horticultural" diodes and since Nichia powers Apache Tech's gear you might as well throw them in too. What about LG Innotek and LED Engin? And add DigiKey, AVNET, ARROW, Newark, Future Electronics and Verical under DIY.

Drivers and Heatsinks are next :).

I think DIY should have its own separate thread. Components are not led grow lights.

I hear ya. Nothing wrong with that I guess as many are into DIY. I just feel they should have their own thread for DIY kits & components so not to clutter & confuse people further when they come here to look for a good pre-made or commercial unit or otherwise.
Then all you'll have to do is make 4 categories here. Top of the line, Proven good lights, suspect lights, & cheapos. Which shouldn't be to hard. Most of us could do that quickly if you needed help.

I noticed it's usually the vendors (I'll name no names, cough, cough, GG) that like to play Hide n go Troll to try & discredit the better companies. But what goes around comes around as many saw w/ PhotonFud. Haha!
They get caught all the time & whatever little credibility they once had is flushed down the toilet w/ most.

OK still need a Lil help understanding some things. So what makes a cob light better than the bulb types ? Wouldn't being able to control the whites, blues and reds be better than full spectrum whites? Don't you still have to run a UFO with the cobs for flowering? I'm not downing anything or trying to get stuff started just want to understand.
