Responding to you is way below me but again, I will dignify a guy with no dignity.
Right now I'm busy working on my grow but I'll try to sometime tonight.
You may wanna brush up on your knowledge a bit before then.
Like saying 3070's are less efficient then 3590's. They are equally efficient, just differant sizes. Thats like saying your basketball sneakers are not made for basketball cuz they're the wrong size.
And where the hell are you getting this false info you keep spewing about what the LEDs are ran at? I know exactly what they are ran at. I was surprised actually to find out he ran the Reds even lower then the rest (which are 50%) to maintain efficiency.
Guy, you are lying to the community left n right. You keep this shit up n nobody will ever believe a word you say.
What I wanna know is why you are lying to everyone? You slapped together a cob light like the 100,000 others & claim to know the ins n outs of the original Cree cob grow light company. Are you just seeking attention or something.
Even the competitors that build cob lights will tell you you're lying through your teeth. That is, if you have any seeing how the stuff you say makes me think you're on crack.

If you want more Amares sold to RIU members keep it up. Every single time this happens, I get at least 2-3 people PM'ng me about the truth. Then they buy an Amare & are the happiest they've been in years in told.
Pure Blasphemy talking about such a great company that way. Funny thing is, unless you're completely new to led, everyone knows you're full of shit.

$2,000 for 900w of flouresent equilivent lightening.

Everyone knows leds are efficient at lower than full power. Clearly you don't have a clue about that. At the maximum power allowed for most leds they're same or less efficient than HID. That's why DIY and any light worth it's weight are under driven by half or more. Amare is Chinese crap and you love eating Chinese crap.

They are NOT run at full power. When are you gonna get that & why do you keep telling lies?

That is wrong hybrid...the 3070 is less lumens/watt at any drive current compared to the 3590. Sorry as a long time user of 3070's, it isn't that big of deal. But at Different drive currents which will skew efficiency because of output, the 3070 can achieve the same efficiency as the 3590 but not the same output....

An old vero 18 ran at 150ma will run at nearly the same efficiency, should we compare it too? No, because it is outputting 2 watts or so...

That's as nice as I can be.

Thank you!
You are exactly right & that's what I've been trying to say. They are just about the same efficiency (hence CXB) but not at the same wattage or current because they are smaller & are designed for more watts.
So, they are just about the same but for differant applications.
Why this guy doesn't get it is beyond me. Ex: (same as yours) I wouldn't use 3590's to replace my 5 w diodes just because they'll be more efficient @ 5 watts.
Running a 3070 at 65% of its total load capacity is equally as efficient as running a 3590 at 65% of its total capacity. So, they are equally as efficient.
People need to understand this instead of jumping the 3590 train.

But that isn't what you said and output needs to be considered as well, again the 2w Vero example. Just saying.

Similar drive currents need to be compared otherwise the comparison can be skewed like you are describing. It is a bunk way to measure and incomplete. What more needs to be explained?, seriously.

Still very inaccurate with your facts and when corrected you get Extremely butthurt, leaving out the math, which you berated just a few weeks ago remember?

I can't be any nicer.

he likes to adjust his ideas based on selling those lights. Like when he was kicking and screaming that amare wasn't made in China.....but look in efficiency thread and amare is the most efficient light. He makes up shit because stupid people believe anything and buy amare...that's his business model for amare

Yeah those CXB 3070 are driven at something like 120 watts which is about 37% efficient. Which is just above HID. So stupid. They charge $2k for something that even cheap ass go green leds could crush for quite a bit less. They're over driven to keep cost down but you don't See that in the Price. Price would tell you you should be getting the best and most efficient light like hybridway spreads all over the net and it's pretty Much equal to a gavita DE under 10,000 hours. I just don't
Understand why he torts so much bullshit as truth. Hell its made in China. So
Either he's just too stupid to know or he's working there and just wanting to catch suckers. I'd say it's suckers because to pay $2k for that is fucking stupid.

I'd get 2 timber kits of 4 CXB 3590 and 2
Chilled kits and that would
Demolish amares Ripoff light in efficiency and in output. And reliability. Amare
Is just Targeting the fools with excess
Money who don't look for anything better. And we have one here.

They are 3590's driven at 100w each 40% efficient and 130lm/w. You seem to be getting the different parts and prices mixed up. And if that's what all the hate is about then you guys need to ease up. The spreadsheet shit is important but I'd rather my lights be driven to 100w vs 50w. I change lights weekly nevermind waiting 2 years of collecting the extra .25 cents a month I save on my electric bill. What's the efficiency on the cx-16? 40% Bottom line is you guys love to hate. Bitching about his 3070's when others use 2540's then bitching about his 3590's when others are still using 2540's all because they are now driven to hard. Bitch about the monos them bitch they are driven to hard. The drivers that were "shit" are the same drivers in gg's lights, now they are meanwells. The reflectors weren't secured well enough for people early on and it's changed, then changed again getting better and better each time. What's next the paint job? I am not taking sides but I do feel the need to correct and enlighten people about the truth. Hundreds of bids on the 100w draw 1000w equivalent LEDs on eBay and here we are arguing over 8% efficiency.:bigjoint:

you change lights weekly ? lol, didnt you just finish you first crop a month ago smo? all i wanted to know is why several sites post the specs as 3070 and only you and hybridway say they are 3590.when is this goofball going to fix his damn website so we could just see the stats from the source instead of all this third party bs.it would saved a ton of arguments in the section over the last few months.fyi 40% eff is kinda on the shitty side of led like close enough to be china crap because china crap is approaching 40% on the regs these days.im sorry i asked any questions at all on these fuckers now,i thought we were past all the bs with these by now but i guess not.

oh by the way, next time you have your calculator out try to figure out what i would save on a 1600.00 electric bill if i cut 8%,nevermind the fact im building for 56-60% so more like double that lol

This was from February in my second grow room. Some lights do come with 3070's some come with 3590's. I do agree the goofball does need to finish the website. That will settle a lot of problems. I fully understand efficiency and that 40% is not excellent that's why He offers multiple lights, some driven softer for more efficiency and others driven harder for more power. 40% is what you get when you drive a 3590 hard at 2.8a atleast it's being driven to 100w like abiqa was trying to explain. They aren't 2540's at 40%

This is one light your referring to. One cob pulling 100w vs your timber kits taking 2 cobs. There is a big difference and your intentionally looking at the hardest driven cobs he offers. If you want to cut your bill drive your cobs at 350ma. Pshhhhh my veg room cost 1600 a month to run. Dude step it up. This can go on and on for ever. Have a wonderful night.

sounds like your wasting alot of money on veg then haha.it was just a ref to your last line in the post "and here we are arguing over 8% efficiency" if you switch out a whole room of hid to something running 40% ok fine just use cmh/lec,but if you switch to 56% now your saving some cash.
you run 12 kw veg then ?

That's just it. There is one light that I own with lower efficiency and it's only because this model is driven harder. He could have just as easily taken out 1 of 4 meanwells and driven it softer. Or done away with the 4 meanwells and ran 2 like most people would have. You can't go off one model and start talking shit about the whole line and it's not hard to build a 62% efficient 3590. If every person had the same goal and grew in the same size room then there wouldn't be a need for options, this is a well diversed line because people want different things. That's it. Not a model light claiming high or standard efficiency. It's a pro model made for maximum growth.

But you're not posting everywhere how it's the best and most efficient replacement for a de DE gavita It barely out performs it and has the damn hot center like an HID. Hybirdway just advertises amare With bogus un backed info. if he just said how It's a good light and he likes it then that's fine

The light for the price actually blows. If you paid less than that you would get much much better light output from PLC or NGL or tasty that would crush the par and uniformity and of course even better with DIY.. That light is just another China junk that's sold to the unknowing he's just to blind and invested to open his eyes and realize he doesn't know how leds work what efficiency is and how leds are More efficient the lower they're driven and more low driven leds beats 4 high driven leds any day. When you Drive leds at or Near max then you're in the HID DE area and would be Better Off with the much cheaper HID DE

All boils down to his completely bogus and subjective claims it's like he's sucking off the owner Of The company....which would make perfect sense.

I respect everything you say but it's deeper than just this light vs that light or Amare sucks because....
I have a ton of cobs that are up,down, being tested and some collecting dust. I think/know there is benefits to the LEDs surrounding the cobs. Not all scientific or completely controlled tests but the LEDs alone veg much better than 3500k cobs. The rest of the light is the same as many others. Taking everything into consideration including he hasn't sold a panel at full price, subtract gogreenleds price on 6 3070 cob panel price from the sp-450 price and what's left is very reasonable for the extra LEDs, uv, seperate power supply and included lenses. I don't see why anyone would have anything bad to say about the company besides the year long delay on the website. Yes there is a little deep throating going on but that's nothing compared to what i have read on this forum. I wanted to vomit when I read the garden thread, people were fighting for a taste. when every other company is being advertised by members here Amare seems to get left out. His cobs come from the same company everyone else's come from. Pushing the plain cob to the next level. Driving them unconventionally, supplementing them that's all good shit.

thats the point why pay a premium for over driven cobs when you can get more light for the same money
