Would you consider buying a VERO after reading through some of the posts?

Looking for some passive pin heatsinks that are predrilled for vero29s, planning on running them up to 65w, so I am thinking 140 or 150mm x 70mm. Anyone have a good recommended source? All I am finding with anything in stock is kingbrite on alibaba, would rather order from somewhere in the states if I can. I need 4 for right now, but will need more in the future.

Why do the Vero Gen7 V22-C's just go unnoticed !
3000K 80CRI TJ=50c
25watts at 58% eff according to the Bridgelux tool.
Only cost $12.50
Am I missing something here or is the Bridgelux tool dodgy.

I think over the course of the last 2 years it has become pretty clear that while efficiency is cool and all, it is far from the be all and end all. For example, running 4000k 80cri is much more efficient than 3000k 90cri but when drawing the same from the wall, which is going to give better results?

look at jorge's cheap and cheerful thread, he digitized a bunch of spectrums. while they may vary from mfr to mfr , it will prob get you close

Malocan? I think you have the new g7s and that fancy meter that could give us the goods.

Or maybe everyone using g7s are too busy giggling in the corner because the plants are doing so well ;)

I believe you are assuming efficiency as we determine it, as a photometric and not a radiometric measurement. When we determine luminous efficacy (LER) we basically convert it from how light intensity is perceived by us (humans) to the actual amount of light (photons being emitted).
So efficiency is almost just as useful as PPF, however both are still not the best measurement as certain wavelengths definitely drive photosynthesis better than others in the 400nm-700nm range.

Not the case, for example the difference in efficiency between a 4000K 80CRI 1212 and a
3000K 90CRI 1212(Tc50c/500ma) is only 2.5% even though the 4000k 80CRI is at 176 lm/W and 3000k 90CRI is at 141 lm/W (11% difference in lm/W)
Also a citizen 1212 3000K 80CRI is slightly more efficient than a 4000K 80CRI.
