will take a photo today of the new clones and a few tiny seedling under the 15 strip/600 w rig over 4 x 4 ft

the seedlings are very squat ..

next plan is get the light as close as i can..and still keep coverge

then will hookup the flood and drain so they can grow faster..

i am interested to see how this not intense but crazy coverage configuration does..

the strips are so cool and not even close to needing any thing other than air movement

sorry no pic[s i forgot] but the first seedlings are SO squat and are only 3" tall and have doubled mass almost over night

once the clones get growing after the weekend the pics will look bette rand i was scared to drop itd own on newly planted ones..dunno if i will flower with this..but we'll see

here is young plant under the strips rig..it has grown many times its size in the last day or so..and the strips are barely warm
to the touch with air blowing past..its j\in a flat.its barely three inches tall ...i better transplant them.i see algae....they are part of a precious secret experiment hahahaastrips plant.jpg

I've had some custom hard strips with the LM561C chips designed and now in production in China. They will be 400 x 30 mm, roughly 16.5" x 1.25". Double rows of 48 diodes, 22-24v at 2 amps max, constant current on rigid aluminum PCBs. A "quantum strip" is the idea. Ordered some samples in the S6 bin 4000K 90 CRI selection, will report back in a couple of weeks after testing, if anyone is interested. If all goes well I expect to have them available also in 3000K and 5000K, and 800mm lengths.

I think you're on the right track here - best of both worlds.

i asked the factory guy about this..he says will check it out[dunno if they are even available]

and about the not great tests on the panels....i am hoping if there was a bait n switch on the 561's that the factory guy seems to realize

that on the "quite serious" diy forum..that is not the way to go

he is sending a 90 and 80 cri 6 x 22 panel 561 c sample..and checking out the new chip
i told him i was forgiving..and i
but the tests showed that something did not add up..the panels[and probably the strips too] and if he wanted any business then they best add up

Although it might not be that big of a deal really.

They achieved this @ 65mA, 5000K, CRI 80+
I think there's already other options that can come close this.

That is a less than one half percent increase in lumens. You could lose more lumens per watt in the driver selection.
and Cree's increase is probably incremental too. although they claimed better spectrum mixing and a cheaper price.

I should mention one thing about the 301 chip here. The size is smaller. It is 3 mm x 3 mm. The 561 is 3 mm x 5 mm. This may open up more density when used. This is where the 301 is better.

For example the new F series strip is running the 561 at 7.7 mm spacing. I could be wrong on the exact decimal. But this would change the spacing to 5.7 mm. That is a increase of about 25%. Or going from 144 diodes on the 1120 mm long strip to 192 diodes. Then with a greater number of diodes you could run at a lower current and still get the same PPFD but with lower wattage.

those pcb strips are dope. i'm interested in finding a waterproof heatsink for
them and running them at our gourmet mushroom farm in the fruiting greenhouse.

the little flexible strip lights are garbage, and need to be replaced every 6 months.
i want a fixture that's ultra efficient and i can waterproof my self to be sure it was
done properly.

several members in the commercial mushroom grower's network have expressed
interest in such a product, so let me know when you're ready for shipping.
