Are cobs really worth it?

You have any evidence whatsoever?

Done it yourself?

Ever used COB LED?

Ever even seen COB LED grown product?

I have- and you haven't.

Your credibility is lacking here.

If you practice medicine the same way you pass judgement on technology you have no experience with, I am concerned for the safety of your patients.
Not trying to be a jerk but what are some of the reason COB product is better?

Just finishing some Hydro Gardens 4-20-39 run. with 1000 watt HPS. Very dense. I read where higher N results is fluffier. Very dank when being cut down. .

Nugs were rock hard dense, extremely frosty, highly potent by comparison to product grown under HID of all types.

People could tell the difference looking at each in glass jars from across the room.

People with lots of experience.

So you're liking the 4-20-39 mix, huh? What ratios are you using and what other additives?

max power = 675W on the cobs, 725W at the wall after driver losses. The attached partslist is from my site cobkits.com. use a code RIU for 10% off, and about $30 for shipping = ~$550
I thought the idea was to run them at much less than max power?
Where does that leave someone trying to replace a hps1000w with said kit?

Calcium Nitrate and Magnesium Sulfate were added like recipe. I added some Silica as well but not as much as I should have. I got jumped fairly early by russet mites. I thought it was nute defec but the nice people at hydro put it on the scope.

I acted pretty quickly and Forbid 4F plus Bronners/essential oils etc helped me to save the crop.
It did well but it would have been huge if I had not gotten jump. The buds were exploding then the bugs jumped me and growth slowed. Coming out of winter the bugs just exploded this year.

Bleaching, bombing alo$coholing and more spraying when tearing down.

better hurry down and get your LED organic grown weed, comes with magical unicorn farts.
Dude - he has been posting pics and trying all those lights. He has been documenting it. He has also said it is his opinion. He is saying COB not just standard LED too.

I know pro guys that swear by DE's like AC/DE but they run hot and better get a big AC. The advantage of AC/DE versus say Gavita is you can vent them.

Keep the room warm and empty for a week and they'll be gone, no bleach required.

you know who make these claims???

Highly invested led users who never grew good to begin with
I don't think that is completely fair. Instead of believing the efficiency hype, compare 600W of HPS to 600W of quantum boards. Even only considering the more easily manageable heat output is enough of a reason to use led, but it'll pretty much guarantee better yield. It's also worth considering that prices for electricity differ and the benefit of being able to run a dimmable setup from early veg has its benefits. I run 60W early veg, 250w late veg and 500w in flower. Saves a bit of money.

thats max power based on the particular driver setup. The cobs have more room above that. if the cobs were run at their max power it would be 1125 cob watts, not 675. youd also be past the point of most passive heat sinks

I don't know about you nick. But I don't think I could grow my weed with HID lights in the cabinets I use. Too much heat for the small area. That. And from what I've tried. I like what cobs have produced.

What about QBs to protect yourself from FLIR aka helicopters looking for grows?

Gov. Chickenpooper-D :dunce: and the Dems and Repubs in CO are recriminalizing pot for the little guy.

Time to go to Oregon where the state legislature voted to legalize coke, meth and heroin ( I am not kidding). :o

I am not sure it has gotten to the OR gov desk yet/
I'm not worried about helicopters here. I have a pretty secure setup. I will be more worried when the medical gets in full gear. I'm sure that they will work hard to eliminate the small growers...aka their competition.
