Zoic's grow - Round 3

Errrr, ummmm, call it a senior moment, or a brain fart. Yesterday I re-potted in the basement then lugged all 6 pots up to the top floor. Today I was watering the plants in the tent downstairs and realized the light was less than 6 inches from the tall plant and was burning some of the leaves. I measured upstairs and discovered I had 8 more inches of height room. Yep, I lugged all the plants down and all the plants up and switched it all around. Aside from being very tired I am thrilled I could accomplish it. 3-4 weeks ago I would not have been able to do it without help from my brother. I am slowly getting my independence back. :D

Damn, nice to see you on another grow, getting hard to keep up with your threads, just came across this one. Nice to see you carrying on and each time with more plants :) Great to see you popped some of the fairy seeds too, remember they're regs so hopefully some females pop for you, crossing fingers over here. Would love to see you get a decent BR and BH pheno with some CBD in there. Cheers, plants are looking good :)

Thanks. I have some BH about 2 weeks out of the ground. I am really hoping for a nice CBD pheno for sure. I want to give some to a lady near here who has a young boy with Dravet's and getting a steady supply seems to be a challenge. I want to reach out to her now, but I thought it best to wait and see if I can ever offer anything.

Looking good man. Such a difference from your first crop. Good job
For sure. It is like night and day from the 1st to the 2nd. Now I am inspired to start growing specific genetics, but I just checked my seeds and I still have over 30 GSC (bag seed) . Some of them are pale, but some look just perfect.

What's the point of 36 hour dark period before flip? And that male looked nice. I'd flower it for atleast some pollen if you can.

This 36 hour dark period seems to be a point of contention. I have read about it on many cannabis sites with mixed opinion. Supposedly it changes some hormones and fosters a quicker transition into the flowering stage. It seems to go against natural light hours of the sun, but I was shocked to find out out one of the plants was clearly a male in about 5 days. The male is outside in my garden for now. I was hoping to catch some pollen from it, if it survives.

long dark before initial flowering works. I have been doing it for years. I ran tests on an OG I had a while back that I was very familiar with growing her for years, I had a thread on old forum that is no longer around running a side by side in a flip flop setup 2 rooms, everything else the same after the initial first day. Long night hormones builds to extreme levels and triggers genetics that it's flower time, much stronger response compared to 12hrs dark, is my conclusion. Hairs go nuts quicker then they usually would just throwing them in 12/12 from veg. This room also yielded slightly more. I forgot the exact numbers but it was such small difference, more tests were needed to find the answer to that one, which I did not do.
--I am organic man now, but back then, this was done on a flood table with rockwool cubes/drippers to waste, and same tank outside the 2 rooms feeding both rooms same GH 3part nutrient solution throughout the grow.

Thanks, "I really appreciate that solid feedback". The remaining 5 plants in my tent are starting to show some nice sized pistils, if you look close enough. Since this is only my third grow, my experience it limited. I am happy that the male reared its ugly head early, I would have been pissed if it had pollinated the Blue Rippers.

Nice work zoic!
I see those frankenhazes are leaning towards their grandma. Did you keep clones?
Subbed.
Thanks Brewery. I did not keep clones this time, still working on a homemade clone system. I do have the opportunity to pollinate the other Frankie and that would give me plenty of seeds. I think I still have at least a few weeks to decide if I should the female outside with the male.

It's a type of shock, tellng the plant holy shit the environment is fucked up, I better flower now or die. This is what I think. Genetic survival mode to flower as fast as possible, then light cycle relaxes into 12/12, and they don't seed or anything, just continue.

I've you've got space to let the male bloom you can pollinate individual branches with little more than a spray bottle, q-tip, and sandwich bag! No need to seed the whole plant.

It is outside now, sitting in the 5 gallon pot somewhat obscured from view. I definitely want to capture some pollen, just not sure where and how I want to use it yet. I am definitely not going to go for open pollination.

I am really stoked to see how well the Blue Harley does. I just started another grow journal, Round 4. Check it out if you get a chance.

Nice, subbed and great choices there ;) I'm debating when to pop my PVK's myself, just need to make sure I won't be away more than 3 days at a time so I can pay them some proper attention. Will be interested to see what pops in both lines and thanks for germinating some of those BH F1's. Fingers crossed for all females! Cheers.
