DIY with Quantum Boards

hello ganjamystic thanks for your knowledge. i am in the US and will have access to to 100+v outlet. what kit would you suggest? i would like to get the 260w. just not sure about the qb304 or the qb288. will the kit come with all i will need to successfully run the light?
no problem, still learning all this stuff myself.. the voltage of your outlet (110V/120V in the US) isn't really relevant in this case. the meanwell drivers have a wide input voltage range (90V-305V), meaning you can plug them into a normal 110V/120V outlet or a 220V/240V outlet, doesn't make much difference (see here). I was referring to the voltage of the boards themselves, as well as the voltage rating of the connectors on the boards... I'm starting to understand all this, but I'm sure someone else can do a better job of explaining it (@robincnn ? @Stephenj37826 ?) ... as far as whether to get a 260W kit with QB304 or QB288, I think since the 260W kit has only 2 boards, either will work, since you can run 2 boards in series either way.. and yes afaik the kits are complete with all you need...

I'm partial to the QB288 since I feel like they're inherently more flexible at 54V. If you ever expand, you can run more in series and not have to worry about current distribution. With the 304s, you'd need to run parallel and there's a chance they'll vary in terms of how much current they pull together. It's highly unlikely anything bad would happen, but it's one more variable.

I have a blueberry auto on the right and a white widow auto on the left. They're about 10 days from harvest. They're only 15" (40.6 cm) tall. I think that's because of the nutrient deficiencies when I was trying to fry them with photons.

I've got nothing but love for the forum members here, Stephen and Robin. Pushing the technological envelope. Like I said, I'm extremely impressed with these lights. I would also note that I was only able to obtain a 4000K unit when the small window of opportunity opened up to me. I originally wanted a 3500K, but it was sold out.

They are a lot more powerful than I anticipated. Even after taking two months to read through all of the posts in this thread, I thought they'd be good, but not THIS good. And to the (unnamed) RIU member who said that you wouldn't be able to pull any kind of weight with these lights, all I have to say is ha ha ha! These are not recycled tech.

I watched your vids. The one thing I would have liked to see is the ppf reading at close range, 4-6". I suggest seeing just how little current is required to produce, say, 800 ppf, at very close range. Why all the distance? Just grow all short plants, like 1', at very close range. My guess is very little power is required.

I'm experimenting with that now. Running a QB288 at 28 watts in a cab. I'll post as it progresses. I have a lux meter but not anything fancier. Can someone remind me where to find the conversion info for lux to ppf?

Great work on slate 3 triple analysis..

Did you look at 12 inch or lower height and effect on PPFD.

Wondered what height and wattage would provide 800-900 PPFD on triple slate 288.

How many people run setups like this? I'm not being snarky either, I'm genuinely curious. I'd think that running this close to the light would severely restrict its coverage.
