I think with ganjaworrier it’s all projection. Has someone infected you with hiv? are you mad at how irresponsible they were? Why blame an entire community and back it up with fake stats, you butthurt?

What's all the covfefe?

How do either of you know what was going through August's mind? She barely knew. Someone who needed to be a porn star, then needed to end her own life, likely wasn't of right mind in the first place.

But she had nice titties. I would have definitely given her a rogering.

i just hate the shitstorm of people who know nothing about whats going on but are happy to get out their pitchforks and torches because someone else said

"look over here theres another person to hate"

the internet these days makes it so easy for everyone to jump on the "outrage train"

this is a deeper problem than august ames but she does make a good example of that problem

everywhere havent you ever been on facebook?

its a tactic that works both sides of the fence. thankfully not everyone falls for it but at the moment i can see society being guided by it from both sides

its driving everything and everyone apart

no, i don't do facebook or twitter or instagram or snapchat or whatsapp or uber or lyft or any of the social nonsense that is plaguing our society. i won't participate in that sort of bullshit.

that sort of bullshit got us in the political mess we are in today.

so what say you on Charlottesville? literal pitchforks and all.

that is the sort of bullshit i m here in this forum arguing against

you cant ignore and pretend it will go away.

just hope every once and again you'll find someone honest enough to rethink their postion

i hate the nazi movement and i fully support equal rights across the board for everyone. i think the running over of the protesters was a terrorist act.

i also think that when the moment on the left moves into violent acts of their own then they start to lose the moral high ground

it is much better to leave the nazi out in the open to point and laugh at them than to stoop to their level (at least in part) and go violent.

because it gives them the opportunity to then get people who arent specifically nazi but conservative in nature to jump on their own "outrage train"

which then splits apart everyone one further rather than the pointing and laughing where you have a chance of gaining the moderates on the conservative side

I sure can. I ignore social media as much as I can, and I'm happier for it. And yes, it will eventually go away.

Critical thinking people, whether they use social media or not, will always consider rethinking their position. Those who impose their feelings are harder to sway.

eventually you will go away just as i will. in death of course

social media i think is going to be here well past either of us

it isnt always about the people you argue with. ive spent more than enough time arguing with climate change denier to know they wont change their mind

its about being another voice out there for the lurkers. to not just be part of the hive mind but to give another opinion that other people can read and see through the steady stream of crap they are otherwise fed on a daily basis

A climate change denier is not a critical thinker, they are attempting to impose their feelings. Stark difference.

Social media as we know it today won't be the same in the next decade or so. People will begin to use it for different reasons and begin to change how and why they use it. Will Facebook and Twitter be around in 20 years? Yea, probably.. but they won't be as embedded in our society as it is today. Something better will come along, laws will change, people will change.

in a discussion like this where there are opinions formed over 140 characters which were ambiguous if crass i think "feelings" is a much better description than "critical thinking"

its way too easy these days to assign malice where it doesnt belong, and even easier to go along with it when the crowd follows

you get the snowball effect and "lynch mob" that follows

once part it becomes much harder to get out because there at one point you need to look into yourself and realise that your actually causing harm

and everyone thinks they're a good person so it cant possibly be them

people wont ever change that much.

yes we have much better civil rights than we did in the past

but people are the same as we have been for a very very long time

social media the thing that amplifies our need to be part of a crowd. it becomes easy to be stuck in own echo chambers and become isolated to everything else thats going on in the world

unless you can dictate what people can access on the internet then there will always be that problem

people and society are every changing and ever evolving. non-critical thinkers aren't able to change much, they lack the ability to self reflect and create change.. but they do... slowly. like a slightly retarded turtle.

twitter is a joke. people who take that shit serious are not critical thinkers. and likely have tiny penises.

i dont yet know if that will fix or amplify the problem

i can easily see it like fox or even prison planet verses mainstream "fake news" but on an internet access level

you pay for the internet provider that will stream you the style of news you are looking for

untill they teach critical thinking in highschool as a main subject we will always be subjected to the masses and their willingness to jump on every stupid idea

look at how much real fake news and crap is being lapped up by people these days by seemingly everyone

russia knows it all too well and is happily pulling the strings by helping forment both sides against each other not just in us but all across europe

just like a tiny penis though that shit gets in everywhere

its the bigger more introspective thoughts that people stuggle to get in as much as you try to lube them up
