I haven't much conversed with ginja, so I didn't know for certain.. but that last comment sealed his/her fate.
I'd never met it before either. You caught on more quickly. I'm a :dunce: for carrying the conversation on as long as I did.

no its cool it was late at night i'd had a couple and your mention of net neutrality put 2 ideas in my head similar enough but needed a long reply rather than a short rambling post that makes no sense

i was conflating the idea of government dictating what people can do on the internet with the idea of net neutrality

on the government side we dont have complete freedom(or net neutrailty so to speak" there are laws and rules about what you can do. some like no kiddie porn its a no brainer and no body can argue agaisnt it. there also torrent sites and download sites that have been shut down along. you cant use internet to make death or rape threats, and if your silly enough to use interent to claim your going to kill the president then expect the feds to be turning up at your door
i do think there is a bit more that can be done telling somone to kill themselves i think there should be some culpability there somewhere if the person ends up doing such

but apart from that i would not want a model of the internet where the government blocks off websites like they do in china where google youtube twitter whatsappp and many other platforms are blocked to try and control the population

and from what i hear they are still more than capable of getting on the outrage train using the social media the have there

so there isnt much the government can do to change it all and too much intrustion willl end up with a failed cure worse than the problem

now to actual net neutrailty and the isp right to throttle or block well thats a scary one. i think amazons recent tiff with google and them blocking acess from each other devices is a sign of things to come

the bit i said about fox networks verse other is in regard to this

https://www.theguardian.com/media/2017/aug/17/sinclair-news-media-fox-trump-white-house-circa-breitbart-news

behind the scenes there has been a conservative media company buying up all the local stations and forcing them to give a right wing pro trump stance ALA fox news style

people worry about where their netflix or their amazon prime movies will get throttled back just wait till companies like this decide to start buying up the internet service providors

it might be easy these days to find your own ideological bubble on the internet but you are always aware of the other bubbles out there

that might not be the case in near future

everywhere havent you ever been on facebook?

its a tactic that works both sides of the fence. thankfully not everyone falls for it but at the moment i can see society being guided by it from both sides

its driving everything and everyone apart
did you hear about the FBI?..it's a shame.
