"the expense of Mexican farmers" I don't mean to sound like a dick, but I'm going to.
Mexican farmers are doing better today then ever before in the history of man! Do you have any idea how much ag is in Mexico? Ag that the U.S. has lost. Ask the people of CA,AZ and Texas. Search that shit! Labor may me cheap in Mexico but nothing else is Power, telephone, land, and payoffs. The Mexican farmers are getting paid and the businesses are making money. Whats wrong with that?

We rich americans also pump a lot of money and lose a lot of fucking jobs to Mexico.. so please don't throw out some canned bullshit about a " making a few americans rich off the expense of Mexican farmers. That's crap, if the farmers don't want to grow for American companies then they don't have to, right ?

Why is it ALWAYS the fault of the U.S.A. ? Mexico is it's own problem. The only thing that keeps Mexico down is the Mexicans. They need to stand up to their government and demand change. But I don't ever see that happening!

Sorry to sound like a dick but I get a little pissed when people bash the U.S. because of lack of knowledge.

no need to apologize, you do not come off as a dick. it is ironic though that you accuse me of a lack of knowledge when you are completely wrong on this issue. mexican farmers get about a third for their crop compared to pre-nafta times. they can't compete with heavily subsidized american crops. the whole article is informative, but I just pasted the final paragraph or two

The underlying concept: the entire reason for trade is to provide improved lives across borders, not to exploit the cheapest labor and weakest environmental rules. We need to question the widely-held assumption that what benefits American corporations benefits Mexican workers and American workers. An authentic plan for growth and development isn't about further enriching Wall Street, major corporations, and a handful of Mexican billionaires; it is about the creation of family-supporting jobs. It is also about a healthy environment, healthy workers, good education, and ordinary people being able to achieve their dreams.

The massive tide of illegal immigration from Mexico is merely one symptom of an economic arrangement where human needs -- not maximum profits-- are not the ultimate goal but a subject of neglect. Neither a massive, shameful barrier at the border nor a disposable guest-worker program will address the problems ignited by NAFTA.

I scroll down only to see YOU reply to me....shit's getting to be scary.
You sit on RIU and ask that FOOLISH question???

Look buddy, I'm poor as dirt, but let me enlighten you --- I'll be one of the FIRST to allow another soul to take a loaf of bread from me, and I'll forgive it at that....although I would have preferred to have first offered it.

Your little kiddie analogies have surpassed annoying at this point.

Illegals entering into America at the rate they have for even the past ten years .......that's an INVASION. You have no qualm with the fact that every country has their immigration laws that they adhere to, yet you expect that America should just overlook the millions here now.

Don't even attempt to compare "illegal marijuana" to illegal immigrants latching on to what is NOT rightfully theirs.

You seem to fashion yourself the psychologist, lol.

And you are STILL claiming they add more to the system than take away from as if it is gospel spoken truth. Why not just google the facts before you continue to spew ignorance? Why do you expect others to site the facts for you?

Could it be you are an illegal?....or perhaps a family member was at one time, or still is?

As for the fear of the boogeyman..........

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
yep, i'm an illegal. how did you know?

yes, i DARED reply, you act like i had no right to do so on an online forum.

yet you failed to answer what you would do: let your family starve, or work undocumented?

the fact that you call it an invasion means you have bought the boogeyman bait hook, line and sinkerbongsmilie

Operation Wetback

Operation Wetback was a 1954 operation by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to remove about one million illegal immigrants from the southwestern United States, focusing on Mexican nationals[1].
[edit] History

Burgeoning numbers of illegal Mexican immigrants prompted President Dwight D. Eisenhower to appoint his longtime friends, John Cox and General Joseph Swing, as INS Commissioner. According to Attorney General Herbert Brownell Jr., Eisenhower had a sense of urgency about illegal immigration upon taking office. In a letter to Sen. J. William Fulbright, Eisenhower quoted a report in The New York Times that said, "The rise in illegal border-crossing by Mexican 'wetbacks' (rooted from the watery route taken by the Mexican immigrants across the Rio Grande) to a current rate of more than 1,000,000 cases a year has been accompanied by a curious relaxation in ethical standards extending all the way from the farmer-exploiters of this contraband labor to the highest levels of the Federal Government."[2]
The operation was modeled after a program that came to be termed the Mexican Repatriation, which put pressure on citizens of Mexico to return home during the Great Depression, due to the economic crisis in the United States.

...try not dare stupidity into this equation any longer...TRY.

You ask a question that you wouldn't DARE ask an American who is starving because of the undocumented worker?

The "boogey man" you refer to is all in your head....chill on the pipe.

who is starving due to illegals? and if they are, where does the blame TRULY lie?

my thoughts on those two questions are 1) what americans are starving due to illegals? because the same entitlement programs that people so often claim the illegals are abusing (and in higher percentages) also provide a minimum safety net for Americans...so what gives? also, i would say the work ethic of the starving American is more responsible for their plight than an illegal who supposedly 'took their job'...what do you think?

and 2) the blame TRULY lies with the employer. no illegal would show up here for work without an employer to pay them. also, many less would be showing up if we didn't take their jobs first.

and the boogey man thing has been done before. somehow our cannabis got turned into marihuana (not marijuana) and when you smoked it you got super strength and could work without tiring for hour on end (like all those illegal mexicans)....history we should all be familiar with

It is very simple if the Mexican farmers feel they are getting the short end of the stick then they can stop farming for the U.S. The thought that they are at a disadvantage here is crazy. Also before NAFTA Mexico had only two classes of people super rich and super poor. Now with NAFTA for the first time they have some what a middle class.

So a left sided website posts a article about NAFTA and we should start believing that the jobs and ag we lost to Mexico which has bettered them also fucked them ? We can fix this, they can stop working for the U.S. companies in Mexico and ask the Mexican government for some industry and we can bring our shit back.

Also I can see you have never been into a manufacturing plant on the boarder. I would bet you most likely never been to Mexico. Once again I lived on the U.S. border and did business in Mexico almost daily so I don't care what a left -side website says. The workers are all unionized, they have a doctor/nurse on staff and get free meals at work. If they get fired or the company shuts down the worker gets a huge payoff.

This crap of well they are still exploited is bullshit. Once again all you are doing is blaming the U.S. for the problems of Mexico. They will never make the same per hour or per person as here. If they don't like to deal then they can back out and go back to the old days where everyone was poor or shut up and enjoy the money they get from the people of the United States.

What has Mexico given us ? Just a bunch of bunk ass weed and problems! While I don't agree with NAFTA it has given the Mexicans a chance. More and more go to collage in Mexico then ever before so they can get a good job at a U.S. company in Mexico. So please stop drinking the kool-aid, and go look for yourself. I have!

Well umm actually that is exploitation. They do the same job but at a lower wage so you don't have to pay a merrikan 5 times as much. Literally exploitation.

Arizona's Next Immigration Target: Children of Illegals

By ADAM KLAWONN / PHOENIX Adam Klawonn / Phoenix – Sat Jun 12, 10:00 am ET
"Anchor babies" isn't a very endearing term, but in Arizona those are the words being used to tag children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants. While not new, the term is increasingly part of the local vernacular because the primary authors of the nation's toughest and most controversial immigration law are targeting these tots - the legal weights that anchor many undocumented aliens in the U.S. - for their next move.
Buoyed by recent public opinion polls suggesting they're on the right track with illegal immigration, Arizona Republicans will likely introduce legislation this fall that would deny birth certificates to children born in Arizona - and thus American citizens according to the U.S. Constitution - to parents who are not legal U.S. citizens. The law largely is the brainchild of state Sen. Russell Pearce, a Republican whose suburban district, Mesa, is considered the conservative bastion of the Phoenix political scene. He is a leading architect of the Arizona law that sparked ......................

If times get hard enough you'd let your family die, great guy. Thats a look into your character.

I would never let my family starve, but that does not mean I would become a POS thoief in order to not allow that. So you are in agreement with Buck that Becoming a piece of shit thief is OK no matter what the circumstance. I would rather beg on the streets for spare change than steal another persons property. I consider thieves to be a short step up from rapists and pedophiles. THey take advantage without regard for who they harm with their thievery.
People who would turn to thievery are the scum of the earth and I would never become scum for anything.

hey bud I'm not knocking you but there is almost always another option. top romin is only 10 cents and if you look on the ground outside of a store you can find a quarter and a nickle and eat well for the day. but if i had no other choice and it came to my family starving or me stealing theres no doubt i would steal
