kudos for starting an informative thread.

i usually take off the lower growth before moving things to flower and use them as clones. sometimes i use the tops, too, but only if they grew too tall.

maybe you can provide some input on my question: this my first time outdoors this year, i have 3 god bud plants out there. indoors, these things stay extremely short and stocky and do not like to be topped. they are about 3 foot tall outside right now and look like trees. my other three out there are different strains and trimmed/topped into bushes. have you ever topped a short, stocky plant and ended up regretting it, maybe it stayed too short, or whatever?

i'm really on the fence about topping these, as it has not turned out well indoors.

oh, and fuck all this cat shit nonsense. these people should only be so lucky, i have to contend with 5 chickens. they have shat all over my strawberries and radishes this year :cuss:

i have regretted topping plants in the past. i usually only top when height is an issue.

gracias!

they seem to be losing their tree shape a little as time goes on, i'll just play it as it comes.

another question about topping, since i only have indoor experience...indoors, i try to leave a week or two between topping and flower. do you think it is a good idea to use a similar practice outside?

thanks again for starting this thread.

i don't trim as much of the bottom growth as fdd does, but i don't exactly have much fun when it comes time to harvest.

i have several mostly harvested plants in the garage right now with just some popcorn waiting to be trimmed. they are taunting me. :cuss:
