  • To be honest your best semi cheap bet for a light from start to finish would be a powerstrip with about 10-12 outlets with 5-6 plug to socket adapters, find two nice boxes of 2700k and 6500k CFLs. I think the actual wattage of decent sized (not the 300w, it's over a foot long and the dia. is about 5") is about 23w.. but if you run 5-6 it'd be a decent amount of lumens. You'd use per say 4 6500k and 2 2700k for vegging, reverse for flowering. I guess the blue ge bulb is okay for germinating because a seed doesn't need much light if any to sprout out of the dirt.. the good thing about that incandescent bulb is that it's putting off quite a bit of heat (vs. close to no useable light for the sprout) which is good for gerimating. Use the described above powerstrip light horizontally and I promise you firm results, goodluck mate if any questions please ask. I returned the 300w CFL because of heat problems and it was hard to situate it right for good light on plants.. too bulky.. hmu
