it depends on the bulb, but the k is a term describing the color spectrum of the bulb. so it is specific to the company. look at the box or the ballast. cool or bright is 6500k and soft or warm is 2700k

yeah it is 780 lumens, i have one of these in my box but it mainly is there to add heat to my box. it doesnt have a good lumen to watt ratio and the special spectrum it is really doesnt help that much. CFL compact florescent lights are better bet since the 100w replacements are 23 actual wats...
