  • Sorry to be a pain.... Will use the Dynamite for fertilizer and it shows just a one time feed when I plant the clones with their time release nutrients. Then use the seaweed on a regular basis every other watering? Only while vegetating or for duration of grow?

We are having a "warm" discussion in our house... Do we put the Dynamite into the soil (5 gal container) along with the clones when transplanted or wait for days or weeks before adding fertilizer? I think it's ok as this is time released fertilizer but my son thinks I'm nuts and it will burn the clones.

Light Distance? How far to keep from plants for optimum growth?
Seems really "simple" to get a good healthy yield on the plants. Not complaining just happy! :-)
When we tried a grow before we used Botanicare CNS17 and were making additions all the time per instructions which took more time with higher cost.
Thank you for your help and guidance.
sorry to here about all of that. with the OC+ or DM red just go by the directions, i fill its best to mix a layer in every 2: or so of soil. feed seaweed every other feeding. for veg with the lights its the same as any other, 24/0,20/4,18/6 and flowering 12/12
Hi Irishboy! Haven't talked to you in awhile as I've been busy with the wife's surgery and getting ready for chemo/radiation treatments. :-(
Getting ready to transplant 4 clones ( purple Cadillac strain... All they had at the time for pain relief ) into 5 gal containers. I purchased some Sunshine Mix 4. perlite, bio weed (Seaweed), Osmocote Plus and Dynamite red.
Need some guidance if possible on feeding, watering, led light times, etc.
    Thks
IDK bro all i know is theirs only one led lights staying in my grow rooms at this point and time, GLH they work great for me. check out my threads for bud porn. i haven't seen a light do better yet and thats why i am using them.
I guess i am too new to ask a private question lol.
I am torn my brother. KESSIL, hydrogrowled The Penetrator, or Lighthouse led.

They all have great PR. but the only one that is a grower wink wink is the penetrator that ive seen. i just bought a light house. and i know it could be a bullshido. but i digress. how good is this growled.com thing
Yeah I see a lot of LED sites that claim that. I'm trying to go green on my lights for a system similar to Stink Bud's setup. He uses 24" 2-light fluorescents for clones, then something like a 250W MH for Veg, and 2 1000W HPS lights for Flower.

I believe his setup has room for 28 in clone, 23 in Veg, and 42 flowering at a time.
bro no led light thats 300w will compare to a 1000w hps, its a scam and GLH dose not make any false claims like that, you have been reading that from BS led company's and never buy from some one like that.

its all depends on how many clones/plants you will be vegging. ive never used the 120w so i would say go with the 180w. the two 180's on my grow were from start to finish, i didnt really need that many for veg with 4 plants but i am sure it did hurt. but they were mostly for flowering.
I checker out growledhydro.com...I know the 300 watt led would be comparable to a 1000 watt hps grow light and probably ideal for the flowering room...they have a 120 watt and a 180 watt...which would you recommend for cloning and for veg? I did notice on one of your grows you were using 2 180s, but wasn't sure if that would be too much for cloning also or just veg. Thanks!
i would use either two 180's instead of the 300w or a 180w+hps for a 6' area, unless thats how tall it is? if ur room is 2.5'x2.5' then one light will be fine
hey irish love your grows man . those buds are insane . i have been using a 400 watt hps light since i started growing with advanced nutrients and getting good results but i want to add more light to the room and have a issue with heat thats why i am looking for a good led . i have been looking into leds and you have undoubtedly proven GLH by far . i dont think there is any other led in the world i would rather use after seeing your grows . i am growing in a 2.5ft x 6 ft area 8 plants 5 gal buckets . could i grow that same area with the 180 or do i need the 300 ? or should i use the 180 led + hps light ? i am on a tight budget and dont really have the money for the 300 thats why im asking . thanks in advance for the help and again GREAT LOOKING BUDS
from all the years ive been using leds and seeing them no 34w will equal a 250w hps no 90w will equal a 400w hps, its a BS sales scam. Good led lights will only do a little better on yield then HID, but will give you more potent buds from what i have seen. i think ur hydro guy is blowing smoke, i bet he hasn't even used them before and is trying to make a sale. i am not going to tell you to buy a GLH light because that ur choice and i dont want to tell you how to spend ur money. all the info u need is on my journals and all over Google, do a google search and it will answer everything for you bro.
the big other part to yield is the grower and strain. you could ave all the watts you want but still get weak yield if you dont know what ur doing. most hydro stores will take you on the band wagon for ur money and sale you a crap load of water down nutes you dont need. all the info is in my journals and on the web.
I appreciate the wisdom completely. I want the best bang for buck. So before I go buy any CFL's or Veg lighting. I should seriously consider a GLH. What does that 250w L.E.D. equate to in HID like HPS or MH? The hydro shop guy says the High Intesity Kessil L.E.D. 34w is equivalent to 250w HPS over a 2 foot diameter at x inches from folliage. All in all, I want the best set up I can start with. I would love to use one fixture veggin and flowering. Can you drop a solid link to something that could point me in the right direction. I would like to yield a Qp for 4 auto flowering plants in a 2x4 foot area.
i think you have ur info backwards. under $500 u can get 250w of the GLH leds, and for $250 you get 34w of the Kessil leds. so the Kessil leds are very very expensive.

ive seen the videos before but to be honest i dont care about tomatoes i would like to see a MJ plant instead.
i am all for supporting ur local area as long as the products work. the thing is if you dont know for sure that the lights work then you could be supporting the wrong person and waisting ur money. trust me ive seen it many times and its happen to me. This is why i stick to the GLH lights because they have been proven many time to grow killer MJ plants.

just trying to get you friendly advise because i know how the led market it and how easy it is to lose money. to each is their own. good luck bro, wish the best for you
at the end its ur money ur choice.
    http://www.kessil.com/
check out the vids they have, the second headline on the home page has a video on its link too, looks like a corporate video trying to show the advantages to it over the traditional L.E.D. talking about the "New Breed of L.E.D."
Well the shop guy made the L.E.D. sound desirable, really wanted to sell me the 400w MH/HPS system but thats a massive sale. 2 bulbs and 1 ballast, cord set, cool tube and hood. It just adds up soooo fast. I dont want heat. The 48" are only like 37 watts they are t8 floro tubes. Something tells me its not gonna be enough for what I wanna yield. I was thinking about CFL's as those efficient incandecent replacements. My main concern is having enough watts during vegg. Did you check out the Kessil site? They seem pretty legit. I follow you on the size issue. They look like lil flashlights hanging down and only cover that two foot diameter. So I would prob need 2 or to use it as a secondary light. The Kessil L.E.D. cost 3 bills but the CFL's are cheap so it seems like a balance.

I went to GLH, Idk if Im sold on the L.E.D board thing. It sooooo expensive! All in all I want to support my local guys Hydro shop. Would you be interested in following my grow if I used these L.E.D's?
remember just because Hydro Farm sales certain things dose not mean their good. i am in know way saying Kessil lights arnt good, i dont know because ive never seen a grow with them yet. i know of them and i know the maker from before he made them on other forums. i just havent seen them used too much and the desing scares me because the foot print looks to me real small.

i couldn't tell you how many CFL's or other lighting to use bro, all i ever use is my leds never add any side lighting. before leds i used MH. i would talk to ur hydro store and see what they say. i would think 4 48" floros would be more them enough i always call Floros CFL's, but thats what i meant. t5' t8's or whatever.
Hydro Farm endorses them for the L.E.D. they are made in America. The local Hydro shop is getting them in stock in a few days. Told me they prob will only carry the magenta spectrum.(I just wanna support my local guy.) Its a magenta spectrum so I suppose they could be accent lights during Veg but I kinda wanna throw a whole new primary light source in once they start to flower. L.E.D. is they way to go for flowering. Say I have 4 48" 6500K SYlvania t8 Floros how many CFL's should I toss in. This is for my first grow: I dont mind spending a couple extra bucks for this if it will really work out. Also, I dont want my small area to get tooo HOT! I got my seeds from Attitude. Easy Ryder AK and White Russian autos.
PS- When I get up and running with my op I would love to have you subscribe and help out along the way. I think I will have my babies in rooting cups within a matter of weeks. All depending on how soon I can make my decisions on lights. All info and help is appreciated.
i dont know any thing about that company, i only know about the ones ive used or the GLH ones i use now. a good led light should veg and flower all the way around and no need to change from veg to flower. but if u need to i would get some CFL's their cheap to buy.
    Hey IB,
I'm about to start an Auto grow. I need help suggesting Veg lights. I plan on switching to L.E.D. for Flower, its a magenta Kessil 36w unit. I kinda wanna go a cheap as possible for the Veg lights but as effective as possible too. I plan to grow 4 autos in Soil. What do you know about Kessil? What alternatives are there?
i dont think ur going to do a 3x3 area with any 120w. if i were you i would just get all 180's for veg and flower.
i cant suggest any other company besides GLH because i haven't seen any leds do better. Do you homework when buying leds be careful allot of them are scam company's.

    good luck!
