10 days and no sprout means a bad seed. i've never seen a seed take that long to sprout. AT MOST 4 days and that's just tossing it in the soil and watering it.

but what is the benefit of germinating in a cup of water or paper towel? does it make for faster plants? just curious because you can just pop an unpopped seed into soil or rockwool or whatnot and it'll germ in that. what benefit do you have to put it in a moist towel or cup of water?

damp off will kill a seedling in under 24 hours. do not use any humidity domes or plastic kling wrap. just water well place the seedling then cover then water again. done.. keep lights on and keep heat up so the soil dries at a good pace. by day 4 you should have it pop and be good to go.

that's exactly what it looks like. and that's exactly how i saved my last remaning seedling. i brought in a space heater. took off the plastic wrap and let the lights dry out the soil. it bounced back after about 2 days. and is doing just fine right now.
