The ballast is built in to the hood. There is a fan inside that is fairly quiet and overall the unit is not noisy. It does put a lot of heat into the area so fans to circulate fresh air into/out of the space is required, like any HID setup. Skoot

If you could give the name or maybe product # from home depot, that would help. I have been to lowes and home depot both and asked for the "y" splitter and got a confused look all 3 times. Thanks in advance SkootNasty

Where did you find the "y" splitters? I am on the east coast of USA and have been to lowes and home depot both with no luck from either. I actually get weird looks when I ask an employee if they have them. A part number or proper name would be a big help. Thanks in advance SkootNasty
