Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

@Rahz Thanks man, I understand now. I just ran to radio shack and wired a 10k resistor and a 100k audio pot (all they had) and everything is working great. Once my linear pot arrives on Monday I'll do a nice wiring job but this will do the trick for now. @bizfactory worth noting that to get...

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

@Rahz I'm a dumbass. I just wired up the 10k pot to the dimmer circuit and when I turn it up I get 26.8 watts, so the issue is that when I wired the dimmer together it was at a super low level. Once I get the 100k pot on there everything will work great. What I don't understand is why when I...

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

Dammit, I just hooked my light up to a KW meter and for some reason it's only pulling 9 watts at the wall? I thought the lights looked really dim....what am I doing wrong here. @Rahz @REALSTYLES @bizfactory any ideas? @Humanrob Yea these are 5 gallons, but for my next run I'll be doing just 2...

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

Got my light all set up in the tent. Going to have to take it out in a few days once the potentiometer arrives. I would've installed it today but the only one I could find locally was at radioshack and it was a stereo volume pot with two inputs so I ordered one on amazon and am waiting for it to...

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

Sure, you can see in the pics I posted but here is a close up. I split the green ground wire from the driver into 2 with an ideal 3 way connector (the orange one). One goes to the ground wire in the power cable, the other goes to a ring connector that I screwed into the heatsink.

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

@Rahz I just had a thought, since I bought a 10k potentiometer by accident, could I get a 100k resistor and wire them together for the same result as a 10k resistor + 100k pot, or am I not understanding how it works correctly?

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

Wooohooo! Got her all built and wired up. Still have to go get a potentiometer and add that in but it works, I have created light! Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

I just want to clarify the exact procedure for grounding my light. Do I need to split the ground wire coming out of the meanwell driver and screw it to one of the heatsinks with a ring connector, or is it enough to just attach a grounded power cable to the meanwell and screw the driver into the...

Attaching the Ideal 50-2303CR to the 50-2300AN

I'm pretty sure in this video Greengenes mentions that you need 4 screws per cob, 2 per ideal, 2 per reflector:

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

Thanks @Rahz appreciate the clarification. So the wiring would go Dim positive, resistor, pot, dim negative? Also, do you happen to know the answer to the question in this thread I posted earlier? https://www.rollitup.org/t/attaching-the-ideal-50-2303cr-to-the-50-2300an.897709/

I apologize if this has been posted somewhere, I have scoured this forum and the rest of the internet trying to figure out how these two pieces fit together for assembly but I can't find the answer. I found this video but they are using different reflector holders...

Best LED for a 2x4x5 tent. Looking to replace a 144x5 Mars Hydro Reflector

Hi @Rahz, I got my order from Jerry super fast and have been assembling my light. I have a question regarding the dimmer. I have this pot: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009QFU9H4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 Do I need a resistor, or can I just use the pot alone...

3D rendering of the first LED I'm going to build

In my other thread I was getting together a parts list for my first DIY cob led. Now that the parts are in the mail I've working on the design. My girlfriend has the skills in Cinema 4D and helped me put this video together based on a 2D keynote design I created. I already have the two 36"...
