1 Gallon coco grow yields.

I started growing after a long hiatus again about 5 years back, and went with 3-gallon flowering pots, quickly switched to 5-gallon pots (the food-grade kind that are used for making wine - with holes drilled in the bottom and lower edges), then I was introduced to the joy of cloth pots, and through I ordered 7-gallon ones, I was sent 10's. These are incredible, with the right strain. My last Skywalker Kush pushed out 6.2 oz (dry and cured), though my Pineapple Express and Blue Dream, not so much. Anyways, I am currently vegging in 5 litre (just over 1 US gallon) pots and have decided to try a SOG. Question is, for those that have gone up in size and down again, or vice versa, aside from the variety, and being able to capture all the phenotypes of a particular strain, do you find a greater yield with adding the extra 3 weeks to veg in a larger container, versus having 8-10 times as many plants in smaller containers? I know flowering takes the same time (roughly) regardless, but saving a month or more of veg (I vegged my last Skywalker for almost 3 months in a 10-gallon fabric pot) may add up to squeezing an extra harvest in a year, or even going perpetual harvest in the same space constraints. I run LEDs and soiless (clay pebble) medium using a flood and drain system (for the time being).

The first one was grown in a 1 gallon fabric pot. The others were grown in 3 liter pots. I got a couple zips off of each plant. If I had vegged them another week or two 3 -5 zips would easily be possible.

What strain?

The first one was a Columbian Gold supposedly. The others were OG Kush and I just realized that those were in soil. I didn't tend to them as I should have and they got away from me which is why they yellowed so much. Still the buds were very dense and the yield was pretty good.

the tall ones on the back table were seed to 12/12 flip, 24 days. 1 gallon coco, 12 plants on a 2x4 table, 600 hps, pulled 15.5 oz, and 8oz larf.
group picture was 5 weeks from 12/12 flip,

With automated watering, 4 ounce doesn't sound like it would be that hard. 6oz is actually impressive if true, and it doesn't sound impossible. Just likely not justifiable for most (please never try to do this on mass scale manually, for your own sanity).

With pots that small and plants producing that heavy, any slight draughts or mishaps in watering are very likely to damage the plants in some way, if not kill them, and quickly.

From what I’ve read/seen with coir it mostly comes down to how often you can feed it. People have posted some monsters in gallon fabric pots.

I don't grow, I just post here for the fun of it. Where else can you see a person admit they sniff their own farts?, it's priceless.
