1000watt HPS heat issues?

ok I plan to use a 1000watt hps to flower BUT i think 1000watt will cause to much heat to contain and be safe.Would a 1000watt hps be a fire hazard in a normal grow room situation? or would a 600 watt with some CFLs around be better?

I have used as many as six 1000w/hps in a 12 foot by 16 foot room. I fix my lamps horizontally with small reflector bonnets. I used an intake blower for every light and a single exhaust blower. It was winter on that grow so my biggest problem was the 25-30 foot head of steam that came out the exhaust blower. I ran it at night to try to keep this hidden. So in otherwords I recommend a room no less than 6 feet by 6 feet, 8 feet high for a 1000w/hps and even still with a single thousand watt bulb I would skirt it with flouresent tubing.

Ok 6x6 feet is too big for one 1000w light if your going to use 1 1000w light you will get better yeilds in a 4x4 space.....Use a fan like he says to aircool your light....I use a 1000w and a 8inch fan to cool my light and exhaust and scrub at the same time........Anything over 4x4 and you will start to have diminishing effects from your light....so if yu wanted to have 2 1000w light then you would want no bigger than a 4 x 8 and so on anyting less than that will affect your yield dont care what anyone says 1000w for 4x4 and 600w for 3x3 live by those rules no matter how many lights you have you will yield big buds asuming everying else is on point

how many plants under the 1000 and the 600?
I put up to 25 clones in a 3 foot square, 8 inch deep F&D table filled with lava rock and clay gravel. I lay them outwards as they get bigger by moving them by the roots while the table is flooded, this is why I skirt 6 feet by 6 feet. 1000w/hps supplemented with 360w coolwhite conventional flouresent tubing. I use a high intensity reflective bonnet with my 1000w/hps.

a 1000 watt light doesn't produce that much heat if you know how to vent everything and make sure you have the ballast outside of your grow room. the ballast produces just as much heat as the light does so keep it OUTSIDE of the room (this also saves it from water, exct).

i am using a 1000 watt HPS/ MH conversion in my personal room, its 5x4 feet i am running a 153 CFM fan through a cooltube and it runs a perfect temperature of 27C lights on 23C lights off. due to space issues i am only able to have 4-9 plants @ one time in my small room. as long as you can vent ALL of the air every 5 mins you shouldn't have a problem, but the biggest thing your going to want to think about is venting that air.

#1 balast outside grow room lowers temperature by 5+ degrease...
#2 make sure you can vent all of the air out of your room every 3-5 mins.

and just for good measure: #3 it takes 8.3 AMP's to run a 1000 watt / 120V light, make SURE you have
