I am running 8x@50 Watts. First timr in my life. Learning to controlling this rocker light. I am ať first week of vegging clones. Now I have then 60 cm from the light. Light dimmed to 300 Watts. Clones were before 10 days Under cfl. I wonder if I could lower the light. Have fear to kill Them.

Hey @Aleo love the artistic rendition

Check out my analog sketch lol
I fired up the old M$paint to add some measurements for ya

The leaves though... Make me nervous. I'd undress those ladies ;-). Beautiful work man. :-)
I'm defoliating quite a lot actually, but they just keep coming on all sides :)

Day 52, 18th day of bloom:

They've been stretching like crazy, but seem to have come to a stop now.
Flowering is now in full progress :)

Still looking great, keep it up, interesting part is about to start.

Plant in photo #3 and #5 appears to be fasciated.

Yeah figured that would be the case. Whorled phyllotaxy can sort of destabilize into fasciation, creating even more leaves and a mohawk looking flower.

First off, hi from the Netherlands!! I read all my info off this forum I wanted to share my build with you guys:

2 x HLG-240H-C1050A
12x CBX3590 3500K
12x Aluminium heatsinks (105mm in diameter, height 60mm) rated for 40 watts

47x47x78 inches growtent

Now i'll just bombard you with all the pictures :bigjoint:

First grow will be 7 feminized seeds: Black Jack by Sweet Seeds :weed:

Owsome work buddy!!

Zou willen dat ik zo handig was.:) Hoeveel kost het in totaal?

So this is my first grow (LED got me interested again) since 8 years.
The last grow in my old house was partly a BlackJack run, that's when i fell in love with the strain :bigjoint:

Here are some pictures of the old setup, and BlackJack plants where i had some good guuud times. (:

What was the actual wattage (true wattage) in the end Nether if i may ask ?

I searched, but they are not sold in a 220v version.
A friend of mine told me he can get one to test with, when it arrives i can compare between the 2

Found one, next week i'm getting another power meter to test with.

Day 56, 21th day of bloom:

I definitely overdid it with the growth period, they stretched even more.
Right now the lamps are almost at the highest point possible.
Cleaned some stuff from the bottom that was never going to see much LED goodyness.

Nevertheless, they are looking good, and seem willing

I'm building a moonshine still together with a friend of mine.
Would it be possible to have the barrels of mash next to my growing tent for Co2?
It being an alcoholic fermentation and such :bigjoint:

Beautiful garden, but I'm afraid the tops may grow into the light. Maybe you can try a bit of LST or something if that proves to be the case? Anyway nice work man...

I got myself a power consumption meter, but it's a weird thing... It measures around the 500 watt.
But it's reacting very strange in the menu's, so i don't quite trust it.
Asking around to find another one to borrow and compare.
Two hlg 240 = 480W. Divide by driver efficiency of around 94% to get 510W. Thus, your measurement sounds right to me.

Very clean design; even lighting, open for good air flow, the tilt feature is genius!

@40W, I wonder what the efficiency rating is for this chip? Perhaps as high as 59-60%?

Be prepared for a lot of copycats- err, admirers, lol

Hot water heating. When I talk about it, people think I'm crazy.
Here in the Netherlands 99% of all homes are using hot water heating using a central heating boiler and radiators.

@Growmau5 had some different calculations for this setup, that was one reason I didn't trust the power consumption meter.

But maybe i'm overseeing something here... being a copycat myself ;)

The craftsmanship that went into your light @Netherfly is amazing. Very well put together!
I'm in the process of building a 4 cob active cooled light, and have been checking out some builds on here to get ideas for mine.

Running at night can help prevent the plants from getting too cold during their dark period, but then it makes their light period colder. It's still one of my main concerns, running high ppf at suboptimal temps that is. I'm planning on building something similar as the OP, but with an enclosure that functions like a sort of reverse cooltube, a warm tube... It would utilize the exhaust for warming the environment and plants and cooling the leds. Attach ducting from intake to enclosure, and on other end connect ducting towards the bottom of the closet/tent, ideally to an air sock or similar spreading it across the bottom. It would a. recycle the heat from the leds, and b. create airflow within the enclosure which helps cool the heatsinks.
Im planning to test this exact same system out, just on a smaller scale. Being an HPS guy, my room is designed for such and cooler months/winter I rely on my HPS to keep the room at temp with no heaters. I have to justify the power reduction over loss of heat than from running my HPS. If I have to run a heater while using the COB light it defeats the whole purpose. Worst case scenario I have a good, cool running summertime light and can save on my A/C usage and light power consumption.

I will use a water chiller with heat recovery, so my grow will warm my home.
