Hey guys this is my first post and I have a question about the fans for a grow box. How to I position them for intake and outtake? I have two fans and they are identical, but where should I put them? Which way to I face them?

Thanks in advance

not knocking pc grows but why do u want to be limited when their are other options
i found pc's are better for learning how to build better ways to grow not to grow in

The fans should have an arrow on them around the outside, pointing in which direction airflow goes. If not, the side that has ribs is usually the side air is blowing. Air intake at bottom of box - air exhaust at top of box. Be careful to not overpowerer your fans - they'll be ruined! A good power supply is a 9v (for less noise - but less power) to 12v (max that most pc fans run at - but loud) If you powering them this way - be careful, black and red are always power on fans but if you try to power the fans with +/- backwards they can fuck up. Good luck man.

ok since no one said it
fan pulling air out mounted at highest point and intake u can run a fan pulling air in or no fan just a passive hole mounted at lowest point and place a fine mesh over it to block bugs they love light and fuck up grows
just remember warm air rises cool air falls

+1 and usually PC's have vents on the side. for mine im just using a fan at the top of the back and the lowest vent on the door

Heat rises, and you want to blow out hot air. I'd make sure the intake and outake holes are also on different SIDES of the box, that way the cool air from the bottom has to cross the middle (ideally across the top of the bulbs) to help dissipate head. It won't do you much good if cool air is sucked in the bottom, goes up the side in pure laminar flow, and then out a fan without mixing with the hot air inside the box!

If you've got two, I think it probably makes more sense to run both blowing air out, rather than one in and one out. That way you'll nearly double the effective ventilation.

Light-trapping the air intake and outtakes is a good idea for max stealth.

As to which way the fan is blowing, that becomes instantly obvious once you turn it on!
