Hi.
Im growing for almost 6 years now,4 first year i had no problems what so ever but in the past 2 years i had big problem in every grow.
The problem is that 20-60 precent of my plants turning to hermaphrodite every grow!!
It happened in many kind of seeds strains so its not the seeds…i didnt changed anything in the setup from the beginning,i have 2 tents, same light same setup the both of them.
I know that hermaphrodite occurring from stress but i cant figured what causing the stress in the plants…for 2 years i cant find the cause, theres no power breakouts, there is no light when its not supposed to be.
Im using only advanced nutrients fertilisers, the temp are in the good range and humidity also.
If you can help i will appreciate it.
Throw me ideas why it’s happening

I know you said that it’s not a lights on/off issue, but do you happen to use a digital timer? I ask because when one of my digital timers began to fail, it wasn’t all at once, but much worse. Instead of just dying, it would randomly shut the light off for short time periods but the app wouldn’t catch it because it was still switched “on”. I only caught it because I like to enjoy the light from the tents in the winter when smoking late and it just happened to do it during one of my late night sessions. I’ve since gone back to the old mechanical timers. At least when they’ve failed on me I caught it quickly. To this day I still have no idea how long the digital timer was malfunctioning.

Just something to check/swap-out if you haven’t already. Probably the first thing you did, but thought I would share my experience…just in case.

When was the last time you bought a new Grow Light? Lights get weaker over time, and a weak grow light can stress a plant, If the Grow Light Is 6 years old, chances are its simply not meeting the light requirement for the plants, which is stressing them out and they go intersex.

When are they turning hermi, near the end or as soon as you start flowering
You say many different strains are they from different breeders.

It was happening also when the lights were brand new…

So basically as soon as they start flowering.

you had 3 years of all being good then 2 years of herm

has anything changed are you still using the same light and is it a led.

I wonder if the lights got a problem you don’t know about a loose wire or something.

you could try changing the dark period to when your up and periodically check it’s not come on

or vise versa it’s going out during the lights on period.

I take it from no light leaks you have not noticed any however have you been in the tent and turned of the lights to double check the door zipper maybe old and letting in more light than you think.

Are your nutes old.

one thing that could well cause it would be defoliation especially if your doing it during the stretch period.

Are you over handling them

trying to figure without being there is like trying to find a needle in a haystack I must admit.

I dont have loose wire…and it happening in 2 tents,in each tent theres different lights, that also had been changed several times…so its not light…
The room that the tents are in is in the dark 24/7 and i dont cone in when the lights are off.
Im going nuts…….can’t figure it out for 2 years

Ok there must be a reason

So far you’ve ruled out the lights the genetics and the lights & the environment.
One step at a time I guess.
So can you tell us what you feed them and give us a basic rundown of your growing method including if you ph or not.
I know two years of this must be driving you up the wall.
Tell me something just as a afterthought have you ever had a virus
