They are all just 1 day. It just that some people come early & stay late & it takes me 2 days to roast a pig lol & I can only afford to donate 1 pig a year, so we'll save that for fall. 4/20 is Easter, we're not gonna get a big turnout on Easter. Maybe the weekend before or after. It will be a good time for sharing...

im headed from north santa barbara county so i would definitely wanna make a weekend out of it. i love driving, but HATE traffic. and dealin with IDIOT driver's, man how come some people dont understandthat the left lane is for PASSING, once you have passed the SLOW-er driver MOVE THE FUCK BACK OVER!!!!!

My feeling is 'if your not the fastest car on the hwy, you don't belong in the left lane'. Many people drive on Friday so they can spend all day Sat @BBQ....

I'm coming from southern Arizona so I'm down for a whole weekend. But if it's a day I have other friends I need to visit out that way any how.

It sounds like were gonna plan for April. Either Sat April 12th or Sat 26th..........BBQ some tri-tip & chicken. Swap things....

I talked to mrsjj and got the OK to budget $$ for Dec 2014 pig roast. We'll rent an RV to use, & have a cord of firewood delivered on Friday. We'll roast a pig on Sat Dec 13th........there that feels better already......

We'll rent RV like this one for Fri & Sat nights. Sleeps 6 or more, so people can sleep there if they wish. The women will have a clean restroom. And we'll have a kitchen & gen. $220 for the weekend...http://sacramento.craigslist.org/rvs/4248101645.html

Had some legal trouble getting home in time. I feel like a d-bag for missing something so close to home. You should start a paypal account for donations. Like you said if people dont show up atleast they donated

Wow, I wondered where you were. I hope everything works out for you GB, and that they aren't serious problems. I think I'm just gonna lower my sights a bit, not expect so much. I'd like to keep it un-complicated. Life happens and peoples plans change. it would be a thrill to see you at the next one brother....take care...

I only see one person insisting that it only be for 1 day. I see a lot of other people that would be traveling from much farther away expressing the desire for it to be more. I respect, understand, and agree with what they are saying.
Either weekend around 4/20 would be fine with me, and I would get a spot for the entire weekend, and would prepare for it in advance. I dont understand why people are so stuck on the roasting a pig thing, either. It seems what needs to be established is the dates, location, and start making a checklist based on who has attended in the past and who will RSVP to attend next time.

Firewood shouldnt be an issue at all, and I know for a fact members can provide it without paying for it. Like me for example. I know I am going to have a lot going on around that time, so the more advanced notice and established the plan is, the better we could all prep for it.

Nobody is stuck on a pig roast, it was just something I am willing to donate & cook for the cause. In the past other growers have catered BBQ brisket dinner to the tune of $800 for the group. What many people fail to see is how much $$ & effort goes on behind the scene & prior too. It's all donated with love, but somebody has to do it.
We've tried the whole 'make a list' approach, with mixed results. If somebody doesn't show, & was responsible for something critical, we're sunk. Your setting yourself up for failure, with the list....
I have budgeted $1000 next year to make sure the Fall 2014 BBQ happens. My gift to this community.......you can mark your calendar for Dec 13th.....see you there.

Yup I for one will stay the whole week end next time, oh wait I did this time, just spent a little more time lost than I preferred LOL!!

i doubt I would attend that. Best of luck on your BBQ endeavors, I wont tread on your contributions. There are other events I would feel better about attending.
