2nd Grow Just started - Tangerine Dream, P.E., Bubblelicious, Arjans Strawberry Haze

Heres the latest pics just a couple weeks since germination. the bubblelicios is extremely sensitive to the heat and the strawbeery haze is as well but not as much. i moved them both towards the outside of the grow a lil further then the rest and they are still showing curled up leaves... the lid temp was 80 and room temp 76 so the humidifier is helping with the temp as well...ive been adding refrigerated water to the humidifier...

The Tangerine dream 2 is looking 10x better since i added some organicare seaplex kelp and some biobizz alg-a-mic to all of the res's... the photo makes it look a lighter & paler then it really is. I feel that all 6 plants are doing very well and are on the upside. so as long as i keep a close eye on the ph and the ppm when i feed ill be more then ok. i have each res's ppm's as close to 500 as i could get it...range from 496-525 with my water being at 130ppms...is that about right for 2.5 week old plants? all of the ph levels are at 5.7-5.9. any and all spots and burns are from about a week ago and all new grwth is looking good...

i went to local hydro store and asked what the 3 things he couldnt grow without and he gave me those 2 and bloombastic. from what ive read on the 2 kelp additives they are very very important to maintain a healthy and vibrant plant. it helps fluctuations in temps & ph, helps against all kinds of diseases and bugs. i havent heard alot on bloombastic, if you got any opinion on any of my 3 new buys please share ...as you can see...money isnt a big issue with me...i really think i should get some better base nutes then the new formulated AN G-M-B. good thing about the base AN nutes is it doesnt affect my ph at all...

Here are the latest and greatest pics of my 2nd grow.... i just changed the water and bumped the total ppms of nutes to 500 per plant...im running the new formulated AN G-M-B as base. im using Biobizz's alg-a-mic, Organicare's seaplex coldpress kelp, and a few ml's of AN revive as my nute additives. the P.E. & BUB are doin the best and the Him Gold is doin well also. Those Damn Tangerine Dreams are something else tho:wall:...i dunno what to do with them:wall:... i honestly think they are too big for their britches:hug:... the stems to the leaves are by far longer then any of my others. it makes then droop down like heat stress but its not hot in my tent. the nutes are not crazy for the size....the TD's have the largest most developed root system and TD#2 is the tallest of them all... ive read in forum that the stems are hollow and not much to em so maybe not much structural support for the size of the plant. also ive noted that they have the thinnest leaves but logest. on TD#1 i splashed nutes as i poured into res so on 1 leave it will look like shit soon and the other i placed my hand on when i was leaning in to change the water in humidifier. wtf, I can't sew a stitch with one hand
While I'm taking it apart with the other... matisyahu reference.... the temps are solid at 80 lid, 73 tent, 70 in res... well here are the pics...oh i also changed from a Phillips son-Agro 400 MH to a Son-Agro 430 HPS...i have some cfl's going as well to get some blue spectrum... in my head, as long as the heat is good, you cant have too much light...can you? if im not worried about electric, are my CFL's a good addition, over kill, or just no reason at all to have em...now here are the pics... the pics where taken at 130am and they are due for a nap and look tired...by morning they will be perky as can be...

You can have too much light. It's called light bleaching, but I don't think you are having that issue.
The Strawberry Haze has some real curled edges on the leaves, so it doesn't like something. I can't tell what ratio's your nutes are & all those additives.
TD are 75% Sativa, and Sativa's are known for feeding lighter. Many of my different strains have a hollow stem, so it's kinda common, to me anyway. I have fed my TD less than any before.
Light will kill roots, so those clones will probably rot before they root.

i added some hygrozyme and they have not liked that at all.... here is what the manufacturer claims:
Manufacturers Blurb.
BY USING HYGROZYME, YOUR PLANTS WILL RECEIVE ENDLESS BENEFITS:

  •
[*]Plants will complete their growing cycle faster
[*]Hygrozyme will significantly increase any harvest
[*]Plants will be healthier and of higher standard and quality
[*]It will help to grow bigger and stronger roots
[*]It will increase volume of foliage and flowers
[*]Plants will benefit from improved soil health and microbial activity
[*]Plants will have more nutrients available
[*]Hygrozyme will reduce the risk of loss of crop
[*]Hygrozyme acts as an anti-stress agent
[*]Faster breakdown of residual dead matter and in medium
[*]Hygrozyme will make nutrient uptake easier and faster
[*]It will help prevent and fight diseases
[*]Porosity of soil and other media will increase
[*]It will reduce competitors' presence (such as algae)
[*]It will extend produce shelf life
[*]Hygrozyme helps to preserve cut flowers for a longer time

It is not a fertilizer or nutrient. It is not a pesticide. It does not contain GMO's (Genetically Modified Organisms)
It's a natural cleaner!
Hygrozyme is an OMRI approved (Organic Materials Review Institute), naturally derived organic solution, specifically intended to facilitate the removal and expulsion of dead organic matter that may have built up on media or medium surfaces – without altering the normal course of decomposition.
Hygrozyme acts as a facilitator-cleaner prior to or in conjunction with the sterilization of containerized media, such as plastic mesh, soil, rock wool, coco fibre or agricultural related equipment, including, but not limited to, greenhouse tools, hydroponic systems, air stones, pipes, pumps, buckets, drip feed systems, and reservoir tanks.

So i added 15mls hygrozyme (says 4ml per liter - each of my buckets holds 4gals of h20) to 2 plants and they started to look a lil wilted...just to make sure i added 10mls to the P.E. & BUB (my healthiest plants) and now they are looking shity...im thinking i might have ot flush it out of the res's and just go with straight base nutes and a weeeee bit of alg-a-mic(kelp). im going back to simple....im gunna buy a new base nutes as well....any suggestions anyone?

I've read a lot of good things about Dyna-Gro products.
I use:
Dyna-Gro Liquid Grow 7-9-5
Dyna-Gro Liquid Bloom 3-12-6
Dyna-Gro Pro-Tekt 0-0-3
Dyna-Gro Mag-Pro 2-15-4
It has a really stable pH and stays real clean in the resevoir

Cheers,

i have 2/3 liter of each AN Conniosseur parts A&B. Conniosseur is supposed to be one of the best nutes out...i dont have enough for all of my plants but im thinking both of my TD's or maybe just one to see if there is a difference in growth. if i do only 1 TD then i could probably have enough for 2 other plants for awhile...im thinking my P.E. & Bubblelicious. i used it on my himalayan gold for my 1st grow and it did just fine...ive never grown before so i dunno what difference it made...i started using it 3 weeks into flowering on the him. golds. with no problem transitioning from nutes... do you think i will have to change my water when i change my nutes or just add to the res on its reg feeding schedule. these plants are alot younger and weaker then my Him golds were when i transitioned nutes...

here are the newest pics taken friday night... they are looking very good and im very pleased on how things are going. still gunna switch to AN Connoisseur nutes with the larger TD#2, P.E. and the Bubblelicious...plan on topping all of em sunday when my buddy stops over to get the cuttings for clones...it would be a shame just to toss 6 perfectly healthy top halves into the trash...i dont have room and im gunna take a break for a few after this grow so i dont want anymore on my plate...

i figured 7 plants in hydro done for the most part the correct way, i should get hopefully a few lbs...that should last me a few months...plus my next grow im gunna go with 5 autoflower sweet seeds "Big Devils". only 2 months from germination to harvest...maybe 2.5.... then im thinking on doin another Tangerine, Barneys Violater kush, G13 Sour AK, Critical+, Heavy Duty Fruity....im only gunna do 5...6 ws kinda rough to maintain...was also thinking of doing a RDWC so i could cut my work by 5/6...ill only have to add nutes, check ppms, check, PH, and clean only 1 main res instead of having to open and close each lid to do all that...pain in the ass i tell ya...if i can figure away to get a res near the tent and not in it i could handle doing like 8 plants. if so im gunna do a TH Seed Darkstar & Blue Hash....im thinking way far in advance...fuck im thinking of moving to Colorado this fall...we'll seee about how that works out...well heres the pics

Well last night i went and topped all plants in style of UB except for the Bubblelicious i dint top at all. i went with 6 kolas on the H.G., S.H., & TD#1. TD#2 i left 8 kolas mainly cuz of the weak looking bottom node branches..probably end up snipping em. i think that TD#1 bottom branches will end up being crap as well. so i guess we will see. i can snip em later down the road again, correct?.

The Bubblelicious is so darn dense and the space between branch nodes is less then an inch on all of em so i couldnt really get in there and make a proper snip at 45 degrees. its at its 9th node and its like 6" inches tall. I was kinda scarred to top the Tangerine Dreams cuz they have been looking so weak but over night they seem to be lifting its branches up towards the lights. man im hungry... the nutes are running at 700ppms with 150ppms from the tap water(i know its high blah blah blah but cant afford a R/O system i want). ummm everything else is good nothing else really to update except for these her picures taken last night 2 hrs after i topped em...

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you suppose to top (especially UB style) when the plants are only a couple weeks old?? You might of waited too long bro, and I know topping the main cola too late is a big no no. Your plants are looking pretty good besides that, hope the topping works out for you.

Peace out

from what i remembered i thought i did it correctly, just maybe a week late. Uncle Ben suggests, now i read UB's forum a few months ago so i maybe mistaken, for 4 kolas snip at 2nd true node when it is 5-6 nodes tall. i made 4 plants 6 kolas and 1 with 8 kola so i waited till the 7th node appeared and snipped at the 3rd/4th node for 6/8 kolas. i know you dont want to top when its in full flowering but i germinated them on march 1st and they have only been out of the dome for a lil over 3 weeks and im not flowering for a week or so...plus it gave me some kick ass clones...

i was also a lil worried about topping the TD's because they were very weak up until a week or so ago. i wanted to wait to give it time to recover from the severe nute burns they got while in the dome... the TD's still havent completely recovered and the bottom set of fan leaves are crap. so that was another reason. and i acually have a few more reasons why..i wanted to give my clones away to a buddy but he never came over 2 weekends ago and not last weekend nor this weekend. (fuk'n jerk). so i now have 7 clones in my tent above the light that i dont have room for... i just couldnt throw em away so that honestly extended my topping by a week... so correct me if you must or dont or read UB's words again for yourself, i dont care... but thanx any way

im not trying to grow the worlds best grass my 1st, or 2nd or 3rd or 4th time around... im still learning and will continue to learn for many years to come. so if top to late this time or top too early next. its all a learning experience to me and if i do everything the same for all plants every grow i will never know what else could be done to better or make them worse off...

These pics were from yesterday a day after i topped em. Lookin ok, the TD's look like they will survive. the f'n bubblelicious is a ridiculously dense strain. i dunno if i even wanna top it, i havent yet. theres like half inch between nodes so no real good place to top so i can have a nice top for a clone. i know i can clone something less then a full top half of a plant so dont chime in no it alls...jk...i placed the humidifier in the center directlt below the light. so far it seems to make it super humid cuz of the moist air and heat from light and 3 fans throwing it around the tent. i also added a battery/plug in powered thermostat that ive hooked up my intake/exhaust fans to...

well i bought more shit for this grow... i bought some Florakleen, Liquid Karma, bonsai scissors, those cloning gel things( which so far seem to be keeping em alive, 2 for over a week with new growth) a 6" Cool Tube, a 6" Easy Cool Hood, and a bad ass thermostat that plugs in. i have my fans set to turn off if temp drops below 67f degrees. its still cold out side so at night it sucks in cold air and ive awoke to it being 58f cuz the lights been off for 4 hrs. so i thinks its a really good buy for $35.00

i have to be at least $2,500.00 invested so far since my 1st grow i started 5 months ago. if it seems good, has good reviews, and i think i might need it, i buy it. i have bottles of shit i havent even opened from 1st grow. dont worry im not adding em all at same time. i feel like the Chicago Cubs... super high payroll with ahhhh-so-so results...jk, this grow im not making the mistakes i made my 1st grow and im hoping for atleast 3ozs minimum per plant hopefully i can get avg of 4-5ozs. if all goes well ive read peeps getting an elbow per plant... that would get me good for awhile. id be like a squirrel with his nuts...storing em and hording em all for myself...MwaHaHahahaha... wait ..... :joint: .... better.

i found pregnant gnats in my res's of 4 of the 6 plants. theres was only one in each. i got em out and squished em and eggs went all over my fingers. EXCEPT ONE had no eggs in it. what do i do for that? i dont want larva and bugs in my res swimming around kill'n my girls. the roots are all real nice and white and i check my tank everyday and sometimes more then just once so they havent been in there very long. i just changed my water a few days ago and setting ph and nutes for 6 res's is a fuk'n pain. is there a additive i can use and ill change water in 2 weeks? if there is, ill head to my local hydro store today...well not local its 1.5 hrs away.

here are the pics... :leaf: Combat Veterans For Canabis :leaf:

100_2298.jpg100_2288.jpg100_2289.jpg100_2294.jpg100_2290.jpg100_2300.jpg100_2292.jpg100_2299.jpg100_2293.jpg100_2295.jpg100_2296.jpg100_2291.jpg

So i was reading online on ways to help kill bugs and larva in the reservoirs and i found a few suggestions on using cheap goldfish. In theory it made sense to me as long as they could live in the additives im using. Having Goldfish in the res would also have its benefits besides bug control. The plants roots would eat up all of the fish's waste matter as food. i think i even read that the fish would also eat some of the waste left behind by microbes... So i added 3 to each and one res i added 9...my buddy forgot his 6 so i added the 6 to the res that i found the bug with no eggs... i bought em friday evening and now on saturday night they all seem to be alive. im wondering if the Goldfish would eat the root hairs? anyone have an opinion? Well its worth a try to find out, and ill be the guinea pig i guess. here are some pics i took yesterday...

I've used the water from a fish tank before on plants in soil. Not sure if the nutrient levels would be too much for the fish in that hydro set-up. I know it can be done with out the nutes, but it isn't as productive for the plant. Not sure about the goldfish for bugs. Just put my TD into flowering tonight.

DANIELS - im gunna transition to flowering sometime this week so ill be just behind you... im so curious about this TD with its off the diverse phenos. wondering how im gunna fair when its all said and done....

:joint: Hello everyone. Ive added the 6" cool tube to my tent and its keeping the temps down to low 70's during mid day. so i guess its doing its job. The fish i added last week are doing ok. in 2 of the buckets they all died over last 2 days and in the other 4 buckets they seem to be doin fine... soooo i dunno... i rearrange my tent again so lets see how it works out. such a pain to get to the buckets in the back of the tent so i aligned the buckets in 2 rows of 3. all of the plants are looking really good except the strawberry Haze...that lil bitch hates any temps over 70f. shes all curled up and looking pissed..well here the latest pics
